Stop counting calories burned during workouts! 🛑
It’s not about how many calories you burn, but how your body adapts to the training. High-intensity workouts might give you a dopamine rush, but they’re not always the best for sustainable fat loss.
🏋️♀️ Weight training might burn fewer calories in the moment, but it helps your body adapt long-term, increasing your metabolism and making you more insulin sensitive.

🌟 Listen to Your Body
While scientific research is valuable for understanding proper nutrition and exercise, nothing guides you better than your own sensations and your body's responses. No matter how impressive a diet or workout plan may seem, if you're not feeling good or your body isn't responding positively, then it's not the right fit for you.
Listening to your body is key, and over time, you'll discover your optimal approach. As you embark on your fitness and health journey, keep a close watch on factors such as energy levels, sleep quality, strength, stamina, skin and gut health, hair and nail condition, mood, and appetite. Monitoring how these aspects react and evolve with changes in your diet and exercise routine will provide more insight into what suits you than any research article could.
This is why I keep an iPad on me when I’m with clients, I can keep more data / consideration on things like this and not just use a cookie cutter approaches. For me data is key for many reasons and I might elaborate more on this tomorrow.
Random, but I think a quick, necessary note to all (in my opinion!)
Consider the context of any post you encounter!!
Context is the background information that helps us understand and interpret a message. It includes the who, what, when, where, why, and how of a situation. 🙌 Without context, we may miss the meaning, intention, tone, or implication of a message. We may also make wrong assumptions, jump to conclusions, or misjudge the credibility of a source. 😱
So, for me, when I hear absolutes and the 'never do this' or 'that' without context, it normally rings alarm bells. Unfortunately, we are in a world of short, incomplete media that lacks a significant amount of context.
It may not fully answer it, but be mindful of context. When it's lacking, don't jump to the conclusions you hear. For me, my favored sources for fitness and wellbeing would be , or .matranga
