The story for Mikey so far
Huge improvements have been made across the last 18 months of coaching
A large focus has been placed on driving new tissue onto the chest, delta & arms here
Multiple specialisation blocks have been ran across this timeframe & the results definitely show
We’re now moving into our first ever prep together, finishing up with a shoot in August
Time to uncover what we’ve built ⛏️
An exciting 6 days ahead as we put the finishing touches on this physique prior to Christian’s shoot 📸
The foundation of peaking an advanced physique client like this will be predominantly based around 2 things;
- Management of ‘physical stress’
- Management of ‘psychological stress’
If you’re truly lean… dropping fatigue and coming into the shoot ‘fresh’ will get you 90% of the way there when it comes to bringing the best look possible
Fail to address these areas however…
And you’ll have a very hard time seeing the response you’re expecting from any level of manipulations past this point (nutrition, water/salt etc)
At this stage, I run daily check-ins & make sure the client has everything they need taken care of, adapting the plan as we go along depending on indiviaul response

Little update on the current shape ⚡️
Nothing special, but a damn sight better than where I was 4 months ago & it’s only getting better from here
Training capacity & recovery seem to be in a great spot
We’re continuing to hold food at this stage whilst performance is still on the rise since implementing this new split
Being patient with the approach to calorie escalations will only improve the longevity of this phase
We’ve likely got another week or two on the current set-point before it’ll be time to get some adjustments in

Jan ‘23 vs Nov ‘23 for Shelley
Sitting at the exact same bodyweight of ~66kg in both shots here, with a notably improved look
The left was 12 weeks into coaching, towards the back end of her initial priming phase
We then ran a 6 month improvement block, heavily focussed on driving training performance whilst in a consistent surplus
And the right takes us up to now, as we finalise this dieting phase
It’s been a good year 🤝🏼

Awful lighting, but here’s an idea of my current position vs where I started 6 weeks ago!
Happy with the comeback so far & we’ve now moved into a mini-cut for phase 2
Mini-cut update: 1 week in
Start weight: 75.4kg
End weight: 73.7kg
Nutrition:
2100cals / 180p / 230c / 50f
Cardio:
90min per week
Steps: 8k
A decent start to this 6 week phase!
The one thing I need to lock in this week is steps, as I came under on a few days last week
Treadmill has been put back in the office, so we’ll tick those off easily next week
Outside of that, the big staples have been nailed and I’ve progressed well out the gates here
Looking forward to pulling off some body fat and preparing for next year

This wasn’t Glenn’s first shoot & his starting point was great here, so it was a fairly smooth process for me to get him into the goal condition
We did have to navigate a big life move during prep though whilst he relocating to Spain!
But having the accountability of coaching throughout this time is exactly what he needed & he handled it like a pro 🤝🏼
The big focus, much like all of our coaches, was to use this experience to grow as a coach and improve his own service for his clients 🧠

The harsh reality
Physique progress requires monotonous, repetitive action across a prolonged period of time
Nothing really changes day to day
So the process of turning up and simply getting the work done needs to be your main focus
It doesn’t matter how much you dream about your big picture goals
How many vision boards you make
Or how many times you say what you’re going to do
Without doing the work required to get there
But how do you do this?
How do you become process driven rather than outcome driven?
My advice
Gamify everything you do
Seek the feeling of achievement from completing the daily tasks
And don’t overcomplicated s**t
Dumb everything down to the non-negotiable tasks you need to complete day to day
And start building your streaks
Track how many days in a row you complete each task
And if you happen to miss a day, start a new streak and aim to hit a PB
Stick to your nutrition
Complete your training session
Hit your step target
Get your cardio done
Go to bed at x time
Wake up at x time
Drink x amount of water
The more importance you can place on each small component
The more they all then come together to create the change you want to see
From unhappy, unhealthy & working in a warehouse
To completely transforming his physique, landing a job in a gym and starting his own PT business
All the while learning exactly how to provide a high quality service and produce great results along the way by completing our full coaching education lecture series
And experiencing first hand what it’s like to be coached at the top level
Incredible transformation all around. This is what it’s all about!

Great week all round this week. The initial couple of weeks of settling into a new programme will always feel a little slower.
Setting baseline numbers, training to a slightly lower intensity & just getting ‘into the flow’ of the sessions
But this week, that’s spark’s back within each session. Training capacity is definitely improving again and feeling that ‘grit’ within sets
The overall look is starting to improve too. Happy with how everything’s going at this stage. No real need to push hard in either direction at the moment. Simply letting the body respond to consistent stimulus & feeding.

I remember this moment clearly
It was at our first ever group shoot in April this year
I stood back for a second
Just took everything in
And felt so proud of what we’d built
After months of planning
Weeks of recording lectures
And fear of whether it was all going to work
This was the first moment I realised what we’d achieved here
To be in a position to educate, train and transform a group of coaches
And leave a mark on the coaching industry by setting the standard
Is something I’m incredibly grateful to be able to do
This year was just phase 1 of the plan
To test the waters and see what impact we can have
And it’s fair to say there is a LOT more where this came from
2024 will be bigger than ever

Today was one of those days that left me motivated to be my best
For myself, for those around me and for the family of my own I want to build one day (few years away yet though , we’ve got some more holidays to go on first)
Sometimes all you need is a little reminder of the bigger picture 💭

Fullness is starting to return. Training & recovery improving. Biofeedback is manageable. Overall, we’re on the right path for 2 weeks in!

has introduced a few new bits into the mycotoxicity protocol too. We’re around 10 weeks into this now & the symptoms associated with it are starting to take less of a hold day to day. Long way to go, but moving in the right direction!

Current state of affairs after ~4 months ‘off’
Time to see if muscle memory is a real thing 🙃
This is my start point as I begin to get moving with my own physique development again
I’m going to be honest… I really don’t want to post these right now! I’ve hesitated it all day
I’ve questioned myself on why…
And I suppose I know I’ve regressed a lot, there’s a lack of confidence in my physique at the moment & maybe a little fear of judgment there too
But then I remembered I’m in the business of coaching physique development
And my clients quite often start in a very similar position to the one I’ve found myself in here
So here it is
Hopefully a few of you will see these updates across the next few months and pull something positive from it 🤝🏼
