SGT University celebrated 10th International Day of Yoga, organized by Department of Swasthavritta & Yoga, Faculty of Indian Medical System & Faculty of naturopathy & yogic science. The United Nations declared June 21st as International Day of Yoga in UN general assembly in 2014. The theme of 10th International Day of Yoga is “Yoga for self and society”. The event was started with welcome address by Dr. lamp lighting by all the dignitaries. The occasion was graced by the presence of honorable Dean Academic Prof. Dr. Rajesh kumar sinha, Dean FIMS Prof Dr. Prasanna Savanur, Deans of various faculty, Teaching and Non-teaching staff and students. More than 200 people participated in the event. Yoga protocol session was conducted by Mr. Rajneesh Yadav. The session was started with brief introduction of Astanga Yoga, followed by joint relaxing exercise, stretching exercise, yogasana in various posture- Standing, Sitting, Supine and Prone, Kapalbhati, Suryanamaskar, Pranayama and meditation. The session ended with closing prayer. Concluding remarks and Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sinha.

Faculty of Indian Medical System in collaboration with Faculty of Dental Sciences, under the aegis of Institution’s Innovation Council, Ministry of Education, Government of India, SGT University organised a workshop on 29th May, 2024 entitled as “HOW TO PLAN FOR A STARTUP; LEGAL AND ETHICAL STEPS”. The event was presided by Dean FIMS, Dr. Prassanna V. Savanur and commenced with lightening the lamp in front of Lord Dhanwantary by our esteemed guest speaker and devoting Dhanwantary Vandana by the students.
Dr. Vineeth George, HOD Samhita Siddhant Department and also IIC Coordinator extended the event by addressing a warm welcome to all the attendees. The programme was graced by the presence of Dean Pharmacy Dr. Vijay Bhalla Sir who also motivated the students with his remarkable words. The session started with a great enthusiasm by our honourable speaker Advocate Mr. Narendra Kumar Ahuja who is the Former Drug Controller, FDA, Haryana and currently working as Professor of Practice, in SGT College of Pharmacy, SGT University. This workshop was an attempt to acknowledge the students and faculties about turning their ideas into innovation and achieve the target of startup followed by the sensitization of all the acts, rules, guidelines, policies and
certifications required for the same. The honourable guest speaker engaged the event so interestingly throughout that it turned to be very interactive.

Department of Agada Ta**ra evum Vidhi Vaidyaka, FIMS, SGT University has conducted a 1-day field trip to Snake Park (National Zoological Park, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi) on 13/05/2024. The visit was purposed for practical exposure of 2nd prof BAMS students regarding snakes, its identification and habitat as per guide lines of NCISM syllabus. Our team consisting of 50 students were taken to field visit accompanied by all the 3 faculties of Agad Ta**ra Department –Prof (Dr) Ashish Mishra (HOD), Dr Shweta Huddar (Associate Professor) and Dr Anjali Sanjeev (Assistant Professor) along with Dr Karuna from Kriya Sarir Department by bus arranged by the University. This field visit benefited our students with wider knowledge about various snakes and their species. Afterwards students were taken for a zoo visit as well. We ended our trip by 2 pm. The bus reached back to the campus at 4:00 pm. It was a successful trip and our students were highly benefited. The practical knowledge of students was enhanced by this field.

Dept of Prasuti Ta**ra and Stree Roga , Faculty of Indian Medical System, SGT University in collaboration with the National reference simulation centre planned a 2 days Simulation based training program for the 3rd year BAMS students on 24/4/24 and 26/4/24. The students took maximum advantage of the same. Topics included during session were Per speculum , Per vaginal examination , Normal Vaginal Delivery, Per abdomen, LSCS , Newborn Resuscitation Skill , ET- Intubation and lastly Practice for all skill stations. Dr Jyoti Khumbhar , HOD , Dept of PTSR planned this informative session for students along with Dr Himani Gupta , Dr Seema Yadav and Dr Nidhi Sharma.

Dept. of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana, FIMS under the aegis of IIC, SGT University is privileged to have organized a guest lecture on the topic “Drug & Cosmetics Act 1940” on 8th May 2024. We were honoured to have the presence of Shri Narinder Kumar Ahooja, the Former Drug Controller FDA, Haryana and currently the Professor of Practice in SGT College of Pharmacy, SGTU; to sensitize the students regarding the provisions of Act related to AYUSH, rules regarding drug manufacture and sale and the related legal issues in practicing Ayurveda.

The event was conducted with the complete involvement of student volunteers. The welcome address given by Dr. Chithra G. Nair, HOD, Department of Rasa Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana. The Introductory remarks were given by Associate Dean, Prof. (Dr) Annapurna R. The event was graced with the presence of Prof. (Dr) Vijay Bhalla, Dean, SGT College of Pharmacy, who shared the words of wisdom to the students. The lecture was enabled with complete interaction between the speaker and the students which marked the complete success of the event.

Faculty of Indian medical system, SGT University in association with alumni cell conducted an Alumni talk on 30th April 2024 by Dr. Manisha Yadav, Alumni of “2016” Batch and a successful Ayurveda practitioner who has been working in the field since 2021 and Guided over 800 pregnant couples for Garbh Sanskar and more than 2000 patients to reverse diseases with Ayurveda, yoga and lifestyle changes. Dr Manisha shared her journey so far from being a student in college till now establishing a startup and also discussed her views regarding “Ayurveda practice- Real world challenges and Opportunities”. She elegantly shared her experiences, insights, and wisdom with current students. Overall, it was an interactive, enjoyable and informative session.

Guest Lecture on “Medical Negligence”
The Department of Agad Ta**ra Evam Vidhi Vaidyaka, Faculty of Indian Medical System hosted a guest lecture on the topic "Medical Negligence." The event took place in D-Block, room number 010, on April 26, 2024, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Mr. Maharshi Kumar Kasoudhan, an esteemed Assistant Professor from the Faculty of Law at SGT University, served as the distinguished guest speaker.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the guest, accompanied by a prayer to Lord Dhanwantri. Dr. Rekha Phull extended a warm welcome to all attendees.
Dr. Anjali Sanjeev, Assistant Professor in the Department of Agad Ta**ra, introduced Mr. Maharshi. The guest speaker elucidated various aspects of medical negligence, including its legal framework, ethical considerations, and implications for patient care.

GUEST LECTURE – “Unlocking and Exploring Global Opportunities in Ayurveda
Faculty of Indian Medical System extends Navratri greetings to all its students, Faculty and staff. On this auspicious day we were fortunate enough to have organized a guest lecture by Dr. Venkat Narayana Joshi, Director, Association Ayurveda Academy, London, U.K. on the topic “Unlocking and Exploring Global Opportunities in Ayurveda” at C- Block auditorium, as part of the MoU signed between the two institutions.
The event started at 11 am by seeking blessings from Lord Dhanwantari. The event was presided by the Dean FIMS, Prof. Dr. Prasanna V Savanur. Dr. Jyoti Kumbar, Prof. & HoD Dept of Prasuti ta**ra and Stree roga delivered the welcome address. Dr. Sunanda, Deputy Dean, External Affairs gave a briefing of the institutional policy regarding international affairs.
The lecture stressed the importance of upholding principles of Ayurveda and its acceptance across the borders. The speaker initiated an active interaction with the students regarding practicing of pure and authentic Ayurveda in a Global scenario. The speaker did throw light over the opportunities for budding Ayurveda graduates across the borders and the different means to attain them. Dr. Chithra G Nair, HoD, Dept of RSBK thanked the August gathering that marked the end of the event at 1 P.M.

On 3rd of April 2024 a fond fresher’s Party was organized for the students of BAMS (Batch 2023-24) with the theme “Aarambham” by FIMS at SGT University campus. The day was filled with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness. The program started at 11.00 am at Shooting Hall, Block-A by our Anchors Miss Diksh*ta and Mr Vaibhav with a warm welcome to all our Dignitaries and the Juries present at the function, followed by lighting of the lamp by our esteemed Dean sir, faculty members and BAMS Students.
The welcome speech was given by Prof. (Dr.) Prasanna V Savanur (Dean, FIMS). The event came up with their unique Ramp walk in pairs and introduced themselves one by one in the allotted time. After this, all the participants came up on the stage with their hidden talent and performed one by one. All performances went on very well. There were about 17 programs back to back. Out of all the participants 10 students including 5 girls and 5 boys were finally shortlisted for the question – answer round. The juries asked some interesting and tricky questions to these students, few of them tackled those questions smartly. After this there were dance performance by the senior students, which was very much exciting to watch. After the performances the result was declared. Awards were given by jury members of the day i.e. Dr. Pankaja Savanur, Dr Annapurna, Dr. Rekha Phull and Dr. Chitra Nair along with Prof (Dr.) Prasanna V Savanur (Dean, FIMS). The winning students were awarded with trophies and gifts.The winners of the Fresher’s party were-

Dr. Mahesh Gurudutt, Assistant Professor, Gaur Brahman Ayurveda college, Rohtak enchanted the audience with his thought provocative session on the relevance of Sanskrit Language and Indian Traditional Knowledge systems.

Students of Nagarjuna club, SGT University and Faculty of Indian Medical System,organized Field visit in PHC Garhi Harsaru- on 22.03.2024. Students of BAMS 4th year along with Dr. Deepika and Dr Priyanka visited PHC. It was a learning experience for all the students. Students insisted to organize more such visits in the future. The visit imparted students with a sense of working of a PHC and Doctor's significant role in the society.

Dr. Archana Chaudhary, Innovation Ambassador, IIC- SGTU & Associate Director of IQAC, SGT University, seamlessly integrated her innovative thoughts with the audience, thoroughly imparting the concepts of ideation, Innovation, & Design.

The workshop was inaugurated by Prof.(Dr.) Prasanna V. Savanur, Dean, FIMS, and was coordinated by Dr Vineeth George and Dr Swati Sharma, Faculty Coordinators - IIC FIMS, SGT University.

The workshop witnessed a vibrant academic atmosphere of students engaging in a captivating dialogue, nurturing the ideas of Innovation.

Snakes, its identification, habitat and other details based on the guidelines of NCISM syllabus were covered by the faculty members of Agad Ta**ra Department –Prof (Dr) Ashish Mishra (HOD), Dr Shweta Huddar (Associate Professor) and Dr Anjali Sanjeev (Assistant Professor) for the 40 students of BAMS 3rd year at the field.

A clinical insightful session on “Importance of Preeksha in Panchakarma Treament” byDr. Nitin Jindal, Associate Professor at Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College, University of Delhi, Ministry of AYUSH, organised by the Department of Panchkarma, Faculty of Indian Medical System, SGT University for the students of BAMS at SGT University.Dr. Jyoti Kumbar, I/c Dean, FIMS, SGT University delivered welcome address while Dr. Rajni Sharma, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Panchakarma introduced the guest.Dr. Jindal pin-pointed the details of assessment for the patients planned to undergo Panchakarma treatment which is very crucial for the successful conduction of the procedures.Event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Alka Yadav, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Panchakarma, FIMS, SGT University.
