In May, six incredibly talented bartenders competed for the title of the MONIN Cup NZ 2024. This year’s competition was set to redefine the boundaries of mixology with the theme “Low is More”, focussing on the creation of No/Low Alcohol drinks.
Our winner, Miles Muir, wowed everyone with his specialty cocktail The Rabble Rouser, a creation inspired by the classic cocktail ‘The Trouble Maker’. He describes his drink as finding harmony in the contrast between the two components, a bright strawberry lemon cocktail base, and a herbaceous cucumber matcha float. “It brings the idea of specialty cocktail experiences to the low ABV front”.
Miles used MONIN Strawberry Puree in the base, and MONIN cucumber syrup along with MONIN Liquid Frappe concentrate in the float to create a delicious foam with full body that holds up well against the base of the drink.
We are looking forward to seeing Miles represent NZ in the Asia Pacific finals in September.

Flaming Peach Espresso Martini 🍑✨🍸A delightful fusion of rich espresso, smooth vodka, and the sweet essence of peach.
INGREDIENTS
20ml MONIN Peach syrup
60ml premium vodka
30ml espresso
Ice cubes
GARNISH
Fresh peach slice
METHOD
Brew espresso and let it cool. In a shaker, combine MONIN Peach syrup, espresso, and vodka. Shake with ice for 15-20 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a fresh peach slice. Torch the peach slice for a few seconds until caramelized. Blow out the flame and enjoy the captivating Flaming Peach Espresso Martini!

INGREDIENTS
25ml Le Fruit de MONIN Yuzu
80ml Cold brew coffee
Manuka honey
Dehyrdated orange
40ml Oat milk
METHOD
Pour Le Fruit de MONIN Yuzu and honey into a glass and mix thoroughly. Add 80ml cold brew coffee and stir til combined. Place half a cup of ice in a rock glass. Whisk 40ml oat milk into a foam then pour it over the iced coffee. Garnish with dehydrated orange slice over top and serve.

30ml MONIN Hibiscus syrup
90ml chilled sparkling wine
30ml orange juice
GARNISH
Fresh berries
Fresh edible flowers
METHOD
Pour syrup and juice into a glass and stir well until combined. Top with chilled sparkling wine or champagne and garnish with fresh berries and edible flowers.

15ml MONIN Falernum syrup
20ml MONIN Liquid Frappe
60ml coconut milk
30ml dark rum

Add all ingredients to a blender. Add ice and blend till smooth. Pour the mix into a glass. Garnish to serve.

INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp Le Fruit de MONIN Strawberry
68g graham crackers (or use wine biscuits)
28g melted butter
113g cream cheese
80g condensed milk
1/2tsp vanilla extract
GARNISH
Candy cane
METHOD
Crush graham crackers. In a mixing bowl, combine crushed crackers with melted butter and leave aside. In another bowl add cream cheese, condensed milk, and vanilla extract, and mix well on medium speed. Once done, start layering the mixes. One scoop of crushed crackers mix, pipe in cheesecake mix, top with a layer of MONIN Le Fruit, and finish with crushed candy cane.

10ml MONIN Frosted Mint syrup
150ml fresh milk
