Hey everyone!
The Snap kids are on holiday so our staffed hours are reduced for the next x2 weeks!🤩
Back to normal Mon 22nd July.
Happy Matariki everyone!✨
Matariki signifies reflection, hope, the gathering of people, and our connection to the environment. Matariki is also connected to the health and well-being of people. At times Matariki is viewed as an omen of good fortune and health. She is widely known as the mother of the eight stars that make up the cluster of Matariki. She is tasked with supporting, watching over, and encouraging her children.
If the cluster, and especially the individual Matariki whetū was seen high and bright in the night sky, it denoted good luck, peace, and well-being for those who observed it. If it were seen in the sky when a patient was suffering from an illness it was taken as a sign they would soon recover.
We wish everyone a wonderful weekend with their family and friends. See you all next week.🌟🫶

Haven’t been to the gym in a while?👀
Whether it was a new job, extended hours, extra family responsibilities or a suddenly or gradually packed calendar stole your workout time.
Whatever the reason, you went from very active to very inactive … and now you’re feeling like you want to feel good again.
The good news? We get it, and we have all been there at some stage! Here are some tips to help you get those healthy habits back as your “normal” and get you back in the gym. All it takes is some planning, patience and a positive mindset.🫶
So, let’s get to it.
1/ Start slowly
2/ Be kind to yourself
3/ Make it fun
4/ Stretch & Rest
5/ Making it social
6/ Keep going
1/
😅Start slowly, keep it simple.
Don’t expect to start where you left off.
Plan the days & length of time of your workouts in your schedule. Starting gradually, for example 2-3 times for the first 2 weeks for 30 mins and build from there.
Lifting too much weight right away, for instance, can put undue stress on muscles and tendons that haven’t been used in a while. Same for immediately hitting intense cardio workouts or even forcing your body into a tough stretch.
If you push too hard too fast, you risk getting an injury or feeling too sore to even walk. So, start at a lower intensity and shorter time to determine your fitness level. Then, look to rebuild your endurance and retrain your muscles.
2/
🫶Be kind to yourself
Restarting a fitness routine may amplify that feeling a bit. Once-simple workouts may seem a bit more challenging than you remember at first.
The more you do it, the easier it will get.
Try not to dwell on what you used to do. Instead, accept where you are at and be proud of yourself for starting a new journey.
3/
🙌🏻Make it fun
An ideal workout routine blends cardio and strength training. Adding variety to your new routine can help keep your workouts fresh while targeting multiple areas of your body.
Adding a walk in nature, yoga or dancing can keep it fun and be great for re setting your mind with something different.
4/
🧘♂️Stretch & Rest
Stretching increases flexibility and range of motion, which can help your muscles work more effectively and lessen your chance of injury.
And rest. Give your muscles time to recover before your next workout.
5/
🧑🤝🧑Making it social.
Exercising with a mate adds an extra bit of enjoyment to your workout. Plus, it supports and motivates you to workout on those “starting back” days where you may feel its easier to not go.
6/
💪🏼Keep going.
“Those days” will come around, we all have them. It’s important to remember how you felt and why you decided to re start. Change takes time but changes will happen only if you are consistent.
7) 🌯Food.
This can have an entire post all to its-self!🤤
Eating majority whole foods with a combination of protein carbs & veggies. (Fill that plate up with vegetables!🥦
Limiting processed foods, high in fat & sugar etc
Life is about balance & having a sweet treat every now & then is ok, best to have a small treat than end up binging & over eating!😉
We are here to chat and support you with any questions you may have about starting a new routine and journey towards feeling better and healthier.💪🏼♥️
Is it long weekend already?! Our staff hours are reduced for this week to accommodate:

Have a great weekend and we will see you all Tuesday.🤩
Long weekends are notorious for overindulgence. Food, beverages, snacks and treats seem to go hand in hand with an extra day off. But, it doesn’t have to be so. Here are some things you can do to stay on track over the next few days.
Tip #1: Plan your workouts & stick to them🏃🏽♂️
Commit to getting your workouts in. They don’t have to be long and drawn out, moving your body will help you stay in track for healthier food choices.
Tip #2: Drink your 💦
You may plan to have a drink over the weekend! 🍷🍺
Remember it’s also important to hydrate with water.
If you’re really wanting a fancy drink there are many delicious and nutritious non-alcoholic punches. If you do choose to indulge in alcoholic beverages, be sure to drink water in between.
Tip #3 Get active as a family / with friends🫶
Plan activities that get you and your family moving this weekend. Go for a hike, a family bike ride, register for a race as a team or even check off some of your yard work tasks. Whatever it is, get active…together.
Tip #4: Don’t give yourself permission🚫
It’s easy to get into the cycle of “it’s only a few days, so I’m just going to enjoy myself this weekend and not care”. NO! You do care. Give yourself a little flexibility, enjoy food you don’t typically eat, but that doesn’t mean eat ALL the food for 3 days! 😅
Instead, give yourself permission to treat your body well. BOOM!
Tip #5: Get some rest & recharge 😴
So many times long weekends are extremely busy. We try to fit in so much, see so many people, be as social as possible, when really what our bodies need is rest. Try not to over-plan this weekend. Have as much fun as you want to have, but also make time for rest, a walk in nature, a hot bath, a good book or some yoga.✨
BONUS TIP:
If you DO go off the rails one day, that doesn’t mean it has to be all weekend. Stop. Breathe & get back on track. One bad day doesn’t mean the entire weekend is a waste and there’s not fixing it. So, be kind to yourself accept that you overindulged then go kick your butt with a cardio workout or a good lift session !😅🏋️♂️
Stick to these tips and remember your fitness, health, nutrtion and energy are important. Long weekends aren’t a reason to go crazy and lose focus on fueling your body the way it deserves to be fueled. So, focus on you, and have an awesome few days!
Eat well. Drink plenty of water. Laugh. Rest and we’ll see you all on Tuesday.🫶
