This is Mekylla Anne Micol B. Sara, a candidate for the position of Secretary-General. Talaga naman na mapapa-"Go, go, go" tayo sa taon na ito, dahil layunin ko na maging inklusibo at bukas sa lahat ng pagsulong. Mula sa aking puso hanggang sa inyo, lahat tayo ay patungo sa kinabukasan na progresibo.

Panawagan ng Pilosopo ng Bayan, Karapata’y Ipaglaban!

Sa naging talumpati ni Marcos Jr. sa kalagayang pambansa, kaisa ang PUP Societas Philosophiae at mga kabahaging mag-aaral sa paghamon sa administrasyon.

Hamon sa mga PUPians at iba pang mga mag-aaral sa bansa ang mababang antas ng edukasyon sa State Universities at Colleges (SUCs). Dala ng bilyon-bilyong budget cuts sa sektor, mas kakaunti ang nailalaan sa pasahod ng mga g**o, pasilidad-pampaaralan, at pananaliksik, lalo sa mga larangan ng humanidades at sining. Maging panawagan natin ang pagtalima ng pamahalaan sa pandaigdigang karapatan sa edukasyon, kalakip ang naaayong pondo sa mga g**o, mag-aaral, at kawani ng mga pamantasan.

Panagutin din ang rehimeng Marcos at Duterte sa pagkitil sa kalayaang akademiko at pagpapahayag. Sa ngalan ng adhika, ilang mga estudyante at aktibista na ang nadakip at napatay sa dalawang nagdaang rehimen. Madiin nating kondenahin ang karahasan. Walang lugar ang pulis at militar sa saligang karapatan natin na tuligsain ang palpak na administrasyon. Salik ng demokrasya ang tinig ng masa sa paaralan at lansangan, kaya’t ipagtanggol ang ating kalayaan.

Gayundin ang kalayaan pambansa at soberenya. Ipanawagan natin ang pagprotekta sa ating karagatan at mga kababayang mangigisda laban sa imperyalistang China. Ipagtanggol din ang ating mga lupai’t kabundukan lalo na ang ating mga kapatid na katutubo at kanilang mga tirahan laban sa neokolonyalistang US.
