Dr. Luceli C. Cuasay of the BS Hygiene Class of 1968 formalized her generous scholarship grant to a deserving BS Public Health student with a Memorandum of Agreement signing ceremony with the College of Public Health, represented by Dean Fernando B. Garcia Jr.. Dr. Cuasay announced the said donation during the MOA signing ceremony of the BS Hygiene Class of 1968 Scholarship last December 22, 2023.

Gracing the event were Dr. Cuasay’s fellow alumni from BS Hygiene Class of 1968, Ms. Niña I. Lojo, Ms. Rosalita Vizconde Tan, and Ms. Anna Marie E. Moreno. Participants from Yokohama City University, Japan; Hasanuddin University, Indonesia; UP Diliman School of Urban and Regional Planning; and College of Public Health, University of the Philippines attended the fellowship dinner of the International Urban Planning Workshop (IUPW) at the UP Diliman Campus. The workshop will run for the period 19-22 August 2024.

With the theme “Transitioning from Informal Settlements to Resilient, Healthy, Sustainable, and Safe Communities,” this workshop aims to provide students with exposure to the urban development context in the Philippines through a series of lectures and fieldwork.

UPCPH sponsored 5 BS Public Health students to participate in this international workshop, which specifically focus on issues related to informal settlements and aim to develop solutions to the identified urban challenges.

Through this program, we would like to formally welcome our incoming students (undergraduate and graduate) to our College. Are you a food handler in Manila? Join us in the fight against AMR through safe food practices! The University of the Philippines - Manila, College of Public Health invites you to a face-to-face seminar-workshop aimed at improving food safety to prevent Antimicrobial Resistance.

The UP College of Public Health (UP CPH) Program for Health Equity (PHE), in collaboration with Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF), invites you to the Third Session of the Health Equity Learning Series.

The theme for the Third Learning Session is Health Equity in Focus: Lessons from Early Implementation of UHC in the Selected Regions". The session will provide a brief overview on some of the programs implemented to accelerate UHC implementation and conduct a discussion on its early lessons and how to further accelerate achieving health equity.

The Learning Session will be conducted on August 15, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, at the Ramon Ang Auditorium, Henry Sy Sr. Hall, UP College of Medicine. Participants may also attend online through Zoom.

Please note that the Learning Session has been approved for CPD Units in the councils of Medicine (2), Midwifery (2), and Nursing (2).

The Department of Health Policy and Administration (DHPA), College of Public Health (CPH), University of the Philippines Manila (UPM) will be conducting a face-to-face short course training on 15th International Classification of Diseases Training Course for Coders from 23 - 27 September 2024 at Hotel Kimberly Manila.

This course is designed to provide the participants to learn the steps in using the World Health Organization’s ICD-10 as a coding tool. The course covers 26 modules, including the definition of ICD-10, benefits derived from its usage, history of its development, its elements and structures, the general guidelines for coding, and specific instructions for coding morbidity and mortality data.
