Congratulations to alumnus, Chew Yong Zhang for taking home the 2nd place in the Space and Global Health Hackathon! 👏🏻🏆

With the opportunity to be part of the team led by Martyn Clark from Group on Earth Observations (GEO) under the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Yong Zhang worked on a project that used satellite data to monitor urban heat distribution.✨ His role involved data sourcing, UI/UX design, and pitch preparation. This experience taught him that international organizations can effectively realize ideas without traditional startup methods. It inspired him to consider pursuing a PhD and potentially working with international organizations to make a positive impact.🤩

What an epic adventure for NOC alumnus Ritesh, his wife Nisha, and their three-year-old daughter, Arisha! They are currently on a year-long global expedition, travelling in a campervan from Singapore to Norway.

During his undergrad years, Ritesh spent a year interning with a tech start-up in Silicon Valley while on the programme. Upon graduation, he launched a new venture which was incubated at NUS. The sense of curiosity, “never give up” entrepreneurial trait lives on in Ritesh, and his family. They have taken the bold step of embarking on an adventure together, learning life lessons and adapting to overcome challenges along the way. Follow them on their journey at .living.

Happy Father’s Day, Ritesh! Here’s wishing you, Nisha and Arisha safe travels, and a wonderful time bonding as a family! Read and be inspired by their story at the link in bio.
