COVID19 Pre Departure Tests and Pre Event Testing
With more VTLs opening up with Singapore, there are more people travelling.
Most countries will require some form of pre departure test.
Either ART or PCR. The test will need to be notorised.
Usually the timing is within 72/48/24 hours before travel.
You will need to check on the exact requirements - which test is required (ART or PCR) and what time frame to meet.
And take note, there can be last minute changes to regulations. So you need to keep watch to look out for any updates.
We can do both the ART and the PCR test in our clinic.
For ART, we can get it done on the spot. It will take roughly 20 minutes (this does not include waiting time to see the doctor) to get the test result and we will submit it for notorisation.
You will need to wait for the ART result and the notorised document at the clinic.
For PCR, we will need to send it off to the lab and it takes about 24 hours.
So some planning in timing is important to meet the 72/48/24 hour requirement.
We ONLY do our PCR swabs in the mornings and we are closed on Sundays.
If the result is clear, notorisation will be done. Once everything is settled we will call you to pick up the documents. A digital copy will also be sent to you.
Pre Event ART Tests
We are also able to do Pre Event ART Tests.
For Pre Event Tests, the result is valid for only 24 hours. So once again some planning is necessary.
You may need to get the test done on the same day as your event.
So that’s it for now.
Take care everyone. Still have to maintain caution.
Mask up with a surgical mask when out and sanitize your hands when neeeded.
Eat healthy, exercise and rest well.
Itchy...Itchy....Itchy......
Scratch...Scratch...Scratch...
We treat a variety of skin conditions from eczema to acne to pigmentation issues. We have a fairly extensive range of skin options.
In eczema, the skin tends to be very dry and sensitive. Cracks will occur and then we will start scratching.
You need to use an appropriate soap during your bath and apply a good moisturiser regularly.
Sometimes we will need to treat with steroid creams.
Many of us have been using hand sanitizers and anti bacterial soaps.
Understandable during these times.
But using these can cause our skin to dry out and lead to itchy skin conditions.
Try applying a moisturiser regularly even if you don’t feel itchy.
It helps to do some maintenance for our skin.
You can easily get moisturisers in the pharmacies or our clinic.
Take care everyone, mask up with a surgical mask when out and sanitize your hands when needed.
Eat healthy, exercise and rest well.
Dear ALL,
Dr Hong will be on leave from 11-12/11/2021.
There will be NO RELIEF doctor.
He will be back to work on 13/11/2021.
Ok done.
The 3 of us went for our COVID19 Vaccine Booster today.
Nothing much, done quickly and waited 30mins after.
We will be resting tomorrow Friday 15/10/2021.
Hopefully it will be like the first 2 shots with minimal side effects.
Should be back to work on Saturday morning.
If you get the sms invite for the booster don’t be scared.
If you have not already done your vaccine, I would advise that you go get it done.
To those who are scared of the vaccine, think about it.
We have so many cases right now. I would be more scared of getting COVID19 without being vaccinated.
Anyway, as always, eat healthy, exercise and get enough rest.
Take care all.
Dear ALL,
We are going for our COVID19 BOOSTER on 14/10/2021.
Clinic will be closed early on THURSDAY at 1230pm.
Clinic will be CLOSED on FRIDAY 15/10/2021.
We will reopen on SATURDAY 16/10/2021.
Dear All,
Dr Hong will be on leave today.
There will not be any relief doctor.
Thank you.
Dear ALL,
Dr Hong will be on leave from
17/07/2021 to 20/07/2021.
There will be NO RELIEF Doctor.
Clinic will resume on 21/07/2021.
In the midst of COVID19 Vaccinations, don’t forget about the usual stuff as we open up and have more interactions with each other.
This morning we all did our Flu Vaccination (2021 Southern Hemisphere).
I jabbed the 2 staff in the morning and one of them jabbed me.
Our part timer had hers done the other night.
There has been a change in the circulating H1N1 virus and even though we had all done our 2020/2021 Nothern Hemisphere Flu vaccine at the end of last year, we still have to protect ourselves against the current circulating strains.
If you have not yet done your COVID19 Vaccination, or are in between the 1st and 2nd dose, complete it first.
Then wait for 2 weeks before doing the Flu Vaccine.
Who needs to do the Flu Vaccine?
Well the recommended groups are:
1. The Elderly -Those above 65 years old
2. Those with Chronic Medical Diseases such as Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Chronic Kidney Disease.
3. Young children below 5 years old.
For Singaporean children below 5 years old, the government will cover the cost of the vaccine and gst fully.
Basically free la.
For those above 65 years old, there is significant subsidy from the government for those holding Pioneer or Merdeka Generation cards.
Pioneer Generation -$9
Merdeka Generation - $18.
Take care everyone.
Keep your spirits up and take care of your body.
Rest well, eat healthy and exercise regularly.
Eczema
Itchy….Itchy….Itchy….
Scratch….Scratch….Scratch….
Eczema is a condition where the skin is very dry and sensitive.
You need to use an appropriate soap when you bath and apply moisturisers regularly.
Sometimes when there is a flare up, you will need to consult a doctor and may need topical steroids or antibiotic ointments with antihistamines.
If there is a concurrent secondary bacterial infection, you will need oral antibiotics as well.
Take some time to maintain your skin regularly to prevent flare ups.
Dear ALL,
Please take note.
Dr Hong will be on leave tonight 09/06/2021.
There will be no relief doctor.
He will be back to work tomorrow morning.
Thank you.

Some COVID-19 Updates.
Our clinic is a SASH (Swab and Send Home) Clinic.
We have been doing this for the past 1 year.
Starting from tomorrow 24/05/2021, patients aged 13 years old and above that have any upper respiratory tract symptoms such as cough, sore throat, throat irritation, dry throat, runny nose, blocked nose or any nasal symptoms, will be required to take 2 swab tests.
Yes. 2. This is not a typo error.
1 swab will be the usual PCR SWAB that is sent to the lab.
Another swab will need to be taken for the ART - Antigen Rapid Test.
This is a rapid test performed in the clinic. The results will take about 20 minutes.
You can either wait in the clinic for the result or go home and we inform you of the result.
If the ART result is negative, we will then need to wait for the PCR result.
The PCR Result typically takes 24 hours, but due to the current situation, results are taking much much longer. This week it has been taking 2-3 days for the result to be out.
If the ART result is positive, we will need to inform MOH and the ambulance transport will then be arranged to take you for further assessment and treatment.
These new changes will significantly affect our clinic operations.
We expect waiting times to be longer than usual.
As such, COVID-19 Swab tests done in our clinic will stop at 1pm from Mondays to Fridays.
If you are seen after 1pm (regardless of whether you registered earlier) and require the swabs tests, we will need to refer you to the RSC - Regional Swab Centre located nearby at the former temporary Yishun Bus Interchange.
There will be NO swabbing done in our clinic in the nights.
For patients seen at night needing swabs, an appointment will be made for the RSC.
For Saturdays, it is tricky.
Those seen early before 10am can possibly get swabbed in the clinic. It depends on the lab collection.
But we will likely have to refer to the RSC for Saturday swabs.
This is a challenging time for all.
The situation is serious.
Take care.
