Your day off? Where are you going today? How many people are you meeting today?

Our happiness gets smaller as we get older. As children, our joys are simple and abundant: a sunny day, a favorite toy, a loving hug. Our smiles are wide, our laughter contagious.

But as we grow older, our happiness becomes more elusive. We chase bigger dreams, only to find that they don't fulfill us as deeply as we thought. We accumulate more possessions, but they don't bring us the joy we once found in simple pleasures.

We become more cautious, more jaded, more critical. Our smiles fade, our laughter becomes less frequent. We start to believe that happiness is a luxury we can no longer afford.

But what if we're looking at happiness through the wrong lens? What if we're chasing the wrong things? What if happiness is not something we find, but something we create?

Let's rediscover the joy of the little things. Let's embrace the beauty of simplicity. Let's find happiness in the present moment, not in some distant future.

For happiness is not a destination, but a journey. And it's never too late to start again.

I hope this longer caption inspires you to reflect on your path to happiness!

READ THIS IT'S BEAUTIFUL 💗

The fate of a mother is to wait for her children. You wait for them when you’re pregnant. You wait on them when they get out of school. You wait on for them to get home after a night out. You wait on them when they start their own lives. You wait for them when they get home from work to come home to a nice dinner. You wait for them with love, with anxiety and sometimes with anger that passes immediately when you see them and you can hug them.
Make sure your old mom doesn't have to wait any longer. Visit her, love her, hug the one who loved you like no one else ever will. Don't make her wait, she's expecting this from you.
Because the membranes get old but the heart of a mother never gets old. Love her as you can. No person will love you like your mother will. ♥️

I tested positive for COVID-19 for the first time this morning. This comes after my recent work trips. I am generally feeling ok, but my doctors have advised me to self-isolate until I am asymptomatic. They have also prescribed Paxlovid, an antiviral medication, because of my age.

My most recent COVID-19 vaccine booster was in November. Please keep your vaccinations up-to-date, as it reduces the risk of severe illness. As COVID-19 remains endemic in Singapore, we must continue to keep ourselves safe and healthy. – LHL

A VERY WORTHY READ!
Keanu Reeves was abandoned by his father at 3 years old and grew up with 3 different stepfathers. He is dyslexic. His dream of becoming a hockey player was shattered by a serious accident. His daughter died at birth. His wife died in a car accident. His best friend, River Phoenix, died of an overdose. His sister has leukemia.
And with everything that has happened, Keanu Reeves never misses an opportunity to help people in need. When he was filming the movie "The Lake House," he overheard the conversation of two costume assistants; One cried because he would lose his house if he did not pay $20,000 and on the same day Keanu deposited the necessary amount in the woman's bank account; He also donated stratospheric sums to hospitals.
In 2010, on his birthday, Keanu walked into a bakery and bought a brioche with a single candle, ate it in front of the bakery, and offered coffee to people who stopped to talk to him.
After winning astronomical sums for the Matrix trilogy, the actor donated more than $50 million to the staff who handled the costumes and special effects - the true heroes of the trilogy, as he called them.
He also gave a Harley-Davidson to each of the stunt doubles. A total expense of several million dollars. And for many successful films, he has even given up 90% of his salary to allow the production to hire other stars.
In 1997 some paparazzi found him walking one morning in the company of a homeless man in Los Angeles, listening to him and sharing his life for a few hours.
Most stars when they make a charitable gesture they declare it to all the media. He has never claimed to be doing charity, he simply does it as a matter of moral principles and not to look better in the eyes of others.
This man could buy everything, and instead every day he gets up and chooses one thing that cannot be bought: To be a good person.
Keanu Reeves’ father is of Native Hawaiian descent 🪶

And may I add, “The joy of the Lord is one’s strength.”

One year ago today, I bought this car…

And let me just be clear, by no means did it make me any happier… In fact, in some ways I felt worse because I was just trying to fill a void. I had belief that “when I achieve X, then I’ll be happy.”

Buying this car reminded me that material possessions don't bring lasting happiness. Sure, having nice things can feel good in the moment, but that feeling is often fleeting.

True happiness comes from within, from our relationships, our experiences, and the way we choose to live our lives. It's also important to remember that our possessions do not define us. Our worth is not based on what we own or how much money we make. Instead, it's our actions, our kindness, and our compassion that truly matter.

What really brings happiness is love, connection, and personal growth. The more we invest in our relationships, pursue our passions, and find joy in the simple things, the happily we will be. The more we appreciate what we have, small or big, then the happier we will be.

Remember, happiness is not something that can be bought. It’s a state of mind that we can create within ourselves through conscious choice. It simply starts with choosing to live with intention and purpose. From there, true happiness naturally unfolds.

Celebrate his life. The boy who started off playing with nothing more than a grapefruit wrapped in rags, and became the greatest footballer of all time in the eyes of most.

He was the complete player, from head to both toes. And the most respected. When he played in his first World Cup in 1958 - scoring thrice against France in the semi-finals, at 17 becoming the youngest player to reach the finals (even to date), and then scoring twice when Brazil beat Sweden to win the Cup - one of his opponents in the finals said he felt like applauding when Pele scored.

And he more than any other made football ‘the beautiful sport’, followed in every corner of the world. As Nelson Mandela put it, to watch him play was to watch the delight of a child combined with the extraordinary grace of a man in full.

Adeus, Pele. Your legend lives on.
