Our Year 3 students from the Diploma in Food & Beverage Business (DFBB) wowed guests with their culinary skills at the "HAERFEST" degustation event at L'Rez!

Celebrating the vibrant essence of the four seasons, students crafted a menu that highlighted the richness of seasonal ingredients, creating an immersive dining experience.

Held from 31 Jul to 2 Aug, the event also honoured DFBB’s F&B industry partners, with representatives from Shangri-La Hotel, Nestlé, McDonald’s, School of Coffee, and Lo & Behold Group in attendance. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with industry guests lauding the students’ efforts to be worthy of a perfect 10. 🍽️

The event featured 7 live-action vignettes captured in real-time and projected onto screens to create stunning illusions. ✨

Ever wondered what it's like to be part of the National Day Parade training? 🇸🇬

Say hi to Javier from the Diploma in Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics! He stepped up for the as a trainer for the row B contingent and the student overall-in-charge for the National Cadet Corps Sea/Air Contingent. As a trainer, he made sure his team met the NDP standards, and as the overall in-charge, he juggle coordination between different parades.

This year was even more special because Javier's dad was in the parade too! At home, they were swapping marching tips and working on those perfect marching steps together!

Fun fact: This is his third consecutive year as a trainer. 🤩

This Teachers' Day, we’re giving a huge shoutout to Ms Eunice Chia, who received the President's Award for Teachers from President Tharman Shanmugaratnam last night.

The School of Engineering lecturer developed innovative teaching methods to ensure her students understand difficult engineering concepts, while awakening their curiosity and interest in the field. Her innovative teaching methods even earned her a spot to present at a global educators' conference in Norway.

Beyond the classroom, Eunice is pushing boundaries with AR/VR tech, guiding CET learners through virtual tours and cutting-edge facilities. Her dedication to her students and love for learning truly inspires us all! 🫶🏻

Our School of Business Management partnered Singapore Business Federation (SBF) on the Jobs-Skills Integrator (JSIT) Initiative for Wholesale Trade (WST), marking a significant step in supporting workforce capabilities development within the WST sector. Witnessed by the Minister of State for Education, Ms Gan Siow Huang, the MOU signing highlights our shared commitment to leveraging comprehensive WST courses, co-developing new SkillsFuture WST series courses, and integrating job redesign with workplace learning.

Together, we are driving impactful job transformation initiatives and empowering the WST sector with the skills and knowledge needed for the future. 🤝

The Heartland Innovation Challenge 2024 provided our students with an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with heartland enterprises in creating impactful solutions. Through design-thinking methodologies tailored to meet business needs, our students from the Diploma in Interaction Design and Diploma in Experiential Product & Interior Design have demonstrated their creativity, innovation, and dedication.

Our Healthy Eating and Active Lifestyle (HEAL) Club students from the School of Applied Science participated in the National Day Observation Ceremony at Bukit Canberra.

Through fun and interactive activities, they taught visitors how to read Nutri-Grade labels, identify the grade of different beverages, and understand key details like added sugars and sodium levels. The goal was to make education engaging and empower everyone to make healthier choices. 🥤🍽️

They also got to interact with Health Minister Mr Ong Ye Kung, who dropped by the booth!

Our students from the School of Engineering and School of Information Technology did us proud at the National Youth AI Prompt Design Challenge, where they used Capbara, a GEN AI platform, to develop applications solving real-world problems.

The winning teams collected their medals from Guest-of-Honour, Ms Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State for Education and Manpower:

Our Diploma in Business Management (Supply Chain Management) students shone at the Supply Chain Challenge 2024, organised by Singapore University of Social Sciences and Singapore Logistics Association. ⭐

Our eight participating NYP teams showcased their innovative supply chain solutions, strategic thinking and seamless ex*****on; ALL teams made it to the semi-finals.
Two teams went on to secure second and fourth spots! 🥳

In addition, all semi-finalists received a conditional offer of admission into SUSS’ Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management programme!

Congratulations to Rong Zhe, our Diploma in Biomedical Engineering alumni from the Class of 2022, for receiving the prestigious Healthcare Scholarship presented by Minister of Health, Mr Ong Ye Kung!

During his NYP journey, he excelled both academically and in leadership. He was awarded the NYP-ESSILOR R&D Scholarship and took on key leadership roles in initiatives like the NYP Capstone Community Action Project and the NYP Open House. 🤗

Rong Zhe is now continuing his academic journey in BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography at Singapore Institute of Technology.

Our Diploma in AI & Data Engineering student, Jia Shuo (pictured 3rd from the left in the first picture), proudly represented at the International Olympiad in AI (IOAI) in Bulgaria.
And his team brought home the Gold Medal in the Scientific round! 🏅

The IOAI is a prestigious global competition where students showcase their AI expertise, focusing on Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision.

Remember that booth at SBM .ve Fiesta with mouthwatering marshmallows? That was Darrel from ChubbyMallow! 😋

With nearly a decade in the F&B industry, the Year 3 Diploma in Business Management student launched the brand to bring a unique twist to gourmet marshmallows in Singapore. After a year of perfecting his recipes, Darrel has crafted flavors like 🍓 Strawberry Shortcake, 🍪 Cookies and Cream, and 🧋 Thai Milk Tea, all tailored for Asian palates.

At the event, Darrel connected with Wendy, founder of Ryan's Grocery, and shared his amazing brand story! Wendy was so impressed that she quickly decided to feature ChubbyMallow at Ryan's Grocery over the National Day weekend!

This is Glenda Lam from NYP’s Diploma in Nursing. She is representing Singapore in Health and Social Care at ! 🩺

As someone who thrives in challenging herself each day, she takes every opportunity she’s presented with. Says Glenda: “I’ve learnt resilience, perseverance and stress management. These traits will remain with me even after the competition.”

Despite the tough training, her supportive peers and coaches have got her back, making things just a little easier for her. They even got her bubble tea and snacks to cheer her on.

Some advice from Glenda: Give it your all and when you’re chosen for something, embrace the journey and do your best. ❤️

Our Class of 2014 alumni, Nurul Ain from the Diploma in Visual Communication (now known as the Diploma in Communication & Motion Design) was recently featured in Berita Harian for her stunning scarf design created in celebration of Singapore’s 59th birthday. 🇸🇬🇸🇬

Her creation, Semoga Bahagia, draws inspiration from our national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim, and the nostalgic childhood game, The Fortune Teller, where players use a folded paper to reveal fun predictions or messages. Nurul Ain aimed to capture both nostalgia and elements of our Garden City in her design.

Reflecting on her , she shares: "Our lecturers at the School of Design & Media - NYP SG taught us to be bold and adaptable, preparing us for the ever-changing world of design. This has made me an innovative and resilient designer."

Today, Nurul Ain is living her childhood dream as an artist and visual designer. In Jan 2024, she launched her own brand, AENA. ✨

With a keen desire to learn, he is eager to take any chance he can to pick up the intricacies of implementing mobile apps, which he is passionate about. 📖

From testing, to developing, to UI/UX design, Declan does it all. He learnt to stay focused, and to improve on his stamina and speed needed for the competition.

Despite the tough training, his coach is there to motivate and support him through it all.

Meet Jun Wei, our alumni from the Diploma in Aeronautical & Aerospace Technology (now known as the Diploma in Aerospace Engineering).

The graduate from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Aerospace Engineering course will be joining Singapore Airlines as an Engineer, bringing his aviation passion to even greater heights. ✈️

During his NYP days, he excelled in Aircraft Maintenance. His hard work, alongside the support of dedicated lecturers and coaching, saw him earning a Gold medal 🥇 at the 2019 WorldSkills Singapore.

He went on to become the first Singaporean to achieve a Top 6 finish in the Aircraft Maintenance trade at the 2019 WorldSkills Competition in Kazan, Russia.

Jun Wei is grateful for his mentors' support and the opportunities at NYP. Here’s to his continued success! 🙌
