CCDS hosted the first visit of Tsinghua University’s “Yao Class” to NTU. The Tsinghua delegation consisted of three faculty members and twenty-five undergraduate students (second or third year) and was led by Asst Prof Song Yifan.
The inaugural batch of scholars from the CCDS’ premier Turing AI Scholars Programme (TAISP) joined the session and mingled with the guests.
This event also marked the first formal meet-up for the 27 TAISP scholars whose freshmen orientation was subsequently held on 8 August 2024.

Asian Young Scientist Fellowship (AYS Fellowship) is a privately funded research initiative in the Asian region that aims to encourage and support young scientists in Asia to conduct innovative and transformative research.
The AYS Fellowship annually selects 12 early-career researchers in fundamental science disciplines: 1) Life Sciences, 2) Physical Sciences, and 3) Mathematics and Computer Science.
We are thrilled that Asst Prof Liu is one of the 12 fellowship recipients selected in the 2024 Selection Round on August 12, 2024 by the Asian Young Scientist Fellowship.

Our faculty Associate Professor Luo Jun has been elevated as IEEE Fellow for contributions to wireless networking and sensing using Internet-of-Thing.
The IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the IEEE Board of Directors upon a person with an outstanding record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. The total number selected in any one year cannot exceed one-tenth of one-percent of the total voting membership. IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership and is recognised by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement.

The ACM International Conference on Future and Sustainable Energy Systems (e-Energy) is the premier forum for research at the intersection of computing and communication technologies with energy systems.
Its 15th edition (i.e., e-Energy 2024), co-chaired by two CCDS faculty members, Associate Professor Tan Rui and Professor Wen Yonggang, was held recently at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore. Its organization committee also includes CCDS researchers and faculty members from Singapore’s and overseas universities. The conference featured three keynote speeches centered on the topic of computing and carbon emissions. A total of 31 full papers, 10 notes papers, and 13 posters were orally presented in person during the 3-day program of the conference. In addition, a total of 25 papers were presented and various invited speeches were made on five pre-conference workshops.
