Growing older is a blessing. Having made our way through the ups and downs of life, we are in the privileged position to look back on what we have accomplished and look forward to new adventures. This is also the time to focus on self care - to ‘future proof’ our bodies so that we can maintain the quality of life that we deserve.
We are very excited to create a yoga class catered for those aged 60 & above. Research has shown that a gentle exercise routine practised 2-3 times weekly helps with heart conditions, blood pressure, diabetes, bone density, memory retention and slows down the degenerative effects of aging. Exercise, movement and community also elevate our mental wellbeing. ✨
Remember … there is never a bad time to start, and it is never too late!🫶🏼

Combined with an Autumn wellness retreat, the participants will not just learn about, but will personally experience the practice of wellness in the serene and idyllic Space Muwi. This beautiful yoga resort is managed by the amazing master trainer of the MYRing, Sei Kim 🧘
Our Training Retreat is open to yoga teachers, therapy providers, health professionals as well as household yogis who wish to explore and discover the amazing uses of the MYring as a wellness aid.

Expect to: Gently move, stretch, breathe with intention. You will be invited to focus your attention so that you may achieve calmness and balance by being in the moment.
✨Yoga Basics

It is good for: Students with little or no previous yoga experience.
Expect to: Practise the basic poses of yoga with a focus on breath and physical alignment. Learn yoga safely and slowly under the expert guidance of your teacher.
✨Gentle Yoga Aromatherapy

It is good for: Students who love the combination of essential oils and yoga.
Expect to: Be blissfully induced into a state of calmness through scent and gentle movements. This sensorial class is a tonic for the body and soul.
✨Foundations

It is good for: Refining your practice.
Expect to: Expand your knowledge of poses, alignment and breathing techniques. While it is a focused and slow practice, more challenging poses are introduced so that you may build on your strength, stability and flexibility. This is a progression from Yoga Basics.

Let's celebrate the festive season and end the year on a positive note with our Yoga Gives Back Fundraiser: Partner Yoga event.
Come along and join us in this karma yoga class for some energetic fun and contribute to a very good cause.
Bring your own yogi partner or make a new friend in class! We will warm up (by ourselves) before getting into some poses where we can deepen our practice and provide support for our partner at the same time.
This Partner Yoga class will be guided by Angie, and assisted by Jo.
This is an all-level class that suits everyone – you only need to arrive with a partner (optional) and an open heart.

✨ Special Class: Chair Yoga ✨
Chair Yoga has often been perceived as yoga for the elderly – this is not entirely true. As a yoga prop, the Chair is used extensively in yoga practices, particularly in the Iyengar tradition. For the rest of us, the Chair allows us to stay seated, or feel safe and supported while staying in a pose.
Chair Yoga makes yoga accessible for older adults as well as those who have limited mobility due to injuries or other physical conditions. It is also a wonderful adaptation as it allows us to approach our practice from a more therapeutic & gentle angle, and still empowers us to build strength, flexibility, balance and stability.
We welcome everyone, including beginners to experience this special session.

Yoga In Common offers a compassionate and mindful practice to all our students. All of our teachers come from different walks of life and bring their unique life experiences to the mat. Our teachers all share the same philosophy that yoga should be taught with care and kindness. We invite you to our warm and friendly studio and share your practice with us.
We are fully equipped with mats and props, and we have a shower and change room facilities. We have a kitchen that you can hang out in and have a cuppa. We supply filtered water and tea. Please bring your own towel and water bottle.
We do require booking and our policy is at least 1.5 hours ahead, but If you would like to do a class and have passed the booking window, you can still contact us and we will try to accommodate you.
