We have many special visitors at Aquinas today as the upper elementary children practiced for sharing their Living Human Timeline with their families. Pictured you can see Simon Bolivar, Hypatia, and Galileo Galilei. We had many other visitors including the Wright Brothers, Catherine de' Medici, Milton Hershey, Elizabeth I, Neil Armstrong, and many more.
In Montessori elementary, we love to put knowledge into context using timelines. Our upper elementary students have the joy and the privilege of bringing a timeline to life. All of the students choose a living or historical figure. They write a serious biography. Then the magic begins. They are placed into a group of unlikely companions, such as Isabella Bird, Davy Crockett, and Sejong the Great, and create an informative and amusing sketch which they share with their families in a delightful performance.
Ms. Baucom and Ms. Brennig enjoyed a collegial lunch at the Washington Montessori Institute on Wednesday. Ms. Baucom represented our school on the panel!
We are celebrating our incredible teachers and staff this Teacher Appreciation Week! To the mentors who ignite curiosity, inspire creativity, and shape the minds of our future leaders, we say THANK YOU! Your dedication, passion, and unwavering support make all the difference in the lives of our students. Your impact reaches far beyond the classroom walls. Let's celebrate our teachers not just this week, but every day, for the invaluable role they play in shaping a brighter tomorrow. ๐
Exploring the Wonders of Space!
Our lower elementary students embarked on an extraordinary journey to the Kenneth C. Griffin โExploring the Planets Galleryโ at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC! ๐ From witnessing the awe-inspiring eclipse to delving into the mysteries of the solar system, it was an inspiring week!
Step inside this captivating gallery and witness the wonders that await! From the majestic giant planets to the rocky terrain of terrestrial planets and the icy realms of small bodies, our students were immersed in the beauty and diversity of our universe.
