Jewish Federations are devastated at the news that Hamas has killed six more hostages, among them the American Hersh Goldberg-Polin z”l, whose story we have come to know so well through the tireless advocacy of his parents Rachel and Jon.
We mourn the loss of these innocents, Hersh, Eden Yerushalmi z”l, Carmel G*t z”l, Almog Sarusi z”l, Alex Lubnov z”l, and Ori Danino z”l.
Our hearts are with their families and loved ones, may they be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. We pray that the remaining hostages will soon be returned home safely.

This morning, our campaign cochair Vicki Wax wrote a column in the Morning Call detailing her two-week visit to Israel. Her experience shed light on the profound human impact of the war that began on October 7. Through her heartfelt words, she urges the general public to seek the truth beyond what we see in the media and to travel to Israel to witness what took place. Below are three poignant excerpts from her eye-opening column:
"I traveled with two friends and 40 strangers, all with the same need to witness the truth, on a trip organized by the nonprofit education organization Stand With Us. This calm feeling ended when, on Day 4, we went 1 1/2 hours south and arrived in hell. There are no words to explain the emotions that permeated from my stomach, heart, head, and every fiber of my body. We went to only two of the communities that became graveyards early Oct. 7, communities that looked like neighborhoods in the Poconos or any beautiful neighborhood here that were totally destroyed, and bodies massacred. From there, we went to the Nova Festival site, which is now a giant graveyard. There are photos of the 399 young people that died just because they wanted to enjoy music."
In this post are screen shots of Vicki's article. You can also find the full article at mcall.com/2024/06/27/your-view-you-need-to-see-what-happened-in-israel-to-truly-understand-war-with-hamas/
