The Diving Deep Village is filling up! 😺 Together, we delve into the depths of our grief and joy, engaging in ritual singing, poetry, storytelling, and movement. This intimate exploration allows us to alchemize our individual and collective pain into wisdom and vitality, strengthening our connection to ourselves and our communities.

Calling all death doulas, ritualists, healing artists, and facilitators who wish to become resources for tending Grief in their communities! 😥💔🔥💧😁🙌

We are currently receiving applications and conducting interviews for this year‘s Training Village!
This 4-day, in-person immersive will experientially impart tools and teachings of how to hold grief collectively. 💧🤲💧

Topics and exercises include: Ritual Literacy, Calling the Waters (Accessing Grief); Ceremonial Tools & Technology; Grief Somatics; The Head & the Heart; Grief Stories; and Casting Spells with Songs of Grief and Death. 🪄❤️✨🔥🌊

The course will be taught by Josh Fox (he/him) and Siobhan Asgharzadeh (she/her) at Sun Song Community in Barnardsville, NC. 🌲⛰️🌞

As a community, we come together at Grief Rituals to embrace the transformative power of storytelling and praying out loud.

Sharing our words and our hearts with one another not only dispels the belief that we are alone in our mourning, it replaces that belief with connection, understanding, and the solace of being seen, heard, and continually held in love.

As our individual narratives weave together, we create a beacon of hope for others on their healing journey.

At each of our Grief Rituals, and during our Grief Tender Trainings, we harness the profound powers of connection through authentic relating exercises.

These activities allow us to drop in with each other on a deeper level to embrace our vulnerability, share our truths, and cultivate deep, genuine connections.

In this space of authenticity, healing unfolds, and hearts find resonance.

Somatic body movement is a powerful tool for healing. 🌿💫✨

Moving energy through the body can help release the weight of grief and stored trauma, as well as create a collective vibration that spreads a healing frequency all around us.

Our bodies become vessels for transformation and self-discovery.

During each ritual we call in the healing powers of many different indigenous cultures and honor the ancient wisdoms that guide us toward balance and well-being.

We feel especially grateful to be connected with elders like .oxendine5 who guide us on our journey.

At our outdoor Grief Rituals, we take great care in calling in the ancient power and support of sacred fire.

The divine energy that dances within the flames, guides and protects us on our spiritual journey.

May the fire continue to cleanse, illuminate, and elevate our souls.

Altar building is one technology we use to call in wisdom and support for group grieving rituals.

These sacred shrines aid us in honoring and connecting with our ancestors, our spirit guides, and ourselves.

Community Grief Work is the cutting-edge of soul activism. Together we have the power to transform our pain into resiliency, healing the collective heart as we heal our own.

We're calling on healing artists, facilitators, death doulas, musicians, ritualists, and anyone who believes that holding space for Grief is part of their soul’s journey to join us in this year’s Training Village!

Together, facilitators Josh Fox and Siobhan Azgharzadeh teach the tools and techniques of holding group grief space in a totally experiential form.

For four full days, we'll connect in person to learn authentic relating exercises, songs, stories, and ritual wisdom that will support individuals in showing up for communal grief.

You will be surrounded by and networked into a Village of folks from around the country who are all dedicated to this important work. And, you'll get the chance to hold space and build experience during a day-long ritual for the larger NC community.

The 4-days will be supplemented by readings, comprehensive handouts, and 3 zoom meetings to prepare and integrate content from our time together. We'll be sharing meals, gathering outdoors in the beautiful Appalachian Springtime, and creating a vibrant village where we can heal ourselves so we can heal others.

We felt so blessed to have Sharon Oxendine as our co-facilitator.

Weekend Grief Ritual next month!
January 6th & 7th

The past few months have consisted of more restorative time than I normally give myself. Lots of inner-contemplation, grieving, and restructuring. It's amazing how much resistance I have to just sitting still! Particularly with the external pressure of getting droves of requests for a Grief offerings.
Now that I've had a chance to recoup, I'm happy to offer a ritual this Sunday at the Asia House in downtown Asheville. It's been a while since we've been indoors, but I look forward to a more intimate gathering. That said, we only have 45 spots, and we've been selling out at 75 lately.
