Dear Higher Community,
I am so grateful for our Higher Supporters who have joined The 2024 Give Higher Campaign. We honestly cannot do what we do without you all, so thank you!
After analyzing the campaign over the past few months and receiving feedback from others, I have decided to make some changes and relaunch the campaign. The changes are as follows:
๐ฐ Our campaign goal has been changed to $75,000 to cover our current fiscal year's budget. Fundraising to meet all of our business needs will ensure our success.
๐ The campaign timeline has been changed to August 1st, 2024 to May 1st, 2025. This new timeline aligns better with our fiscal budget and the academic calendar.
๐ The campaign contributions have been changed to include all individual donations and unrestricted grants. Donations $500 and up that align with our Give Higher Tiers still receive (2) VIP tickets to The 3rd Annual Higher Celebration in May 2025.
These 3 changes help us pursue sustainability and longevity as a public grant-making foundation. As of today, we have raised over $10,000 from 22 donors, getting us closer to our campaign goal. You can see more details in our November Campaign Report on our website at www.higherfoundation.org/givehigher. I will provide another report in February 2025 to give you all our latest update.
Thank you again to our Higher Supporters who make our mission possible. You can become a Higher Supporter by making a general donation of any amount you can. Always remember, when our Higher Supporters give higher, then our Higher Students can go higher.
๐
With Love & Gratitude,

"I know that the American Dream is alive and is something that I will achieve as I pursue my studies and internships. My future looks positive as long as I am willing to work hard and strive for my best in everything I do. I also will use my abilities to mentor other young women to succeed in their goals as I do in my position as a girl scout assistant leader and a leader at my church. As I grow in my studies and my
mentoring, I hope to be a positive influence to others just as my mother and other women have inspired me."

The state of Georgia issued a public-school policy that all students must have a clear or mesh book bag in efforts to keep weapons off the school campuses. When students do not have a mesh or clear book bag, mainly due to their parents not being financially able to purchase them, the students are then out of compliance and are required to hand hold their books and belongings.
With Representative Lydia Glaize and Coweta-Fayette EMCโs partnership, we were able to give away 264 clear book bags to the youth of Bear Creek Middle School. We are thankful for this partnership that helps our youth comply with the clear book bag policy and helps keep their school campus safe. With adequate resources and school campus safety, our youth can go higher.
Thank you to our Higher Partners for making this possible. Drop some blue hearts ๐ in the comments to show them some Higher Love!

"My journey isn't defined by setbacks but by resilience. Despite enduring a stroke in 2022, I never surrendered to despair. Instead, I persevered, driven by faith in God and determination to pursue my dreams. So, to every prospective and current college student, remember that setbacks are not the end but merely a detour on the road to success. Trust in your abilities, have faith in your journey and never give up on your dreams of higher education."

"I have been one of the youngest interns at a Fortune 100 company, made several meaningful and diverse life connections, and adapted to Georgia Tech by not setting limits on myself. The only limits out there are the ones you put on yourself. If you encounter a problem in your ventures, donโt give up, but rather find a solution to achieve your end goals. Remember, everyone has a different purpose in life, and no oneโs journey will be the same."

Giving Gap aims to connect Black-led nonprofits with hard-to-access funding On Tuesdayโs edition of โCloser Look,โ we hear from Giving GAP CEO Heather Infantry, Alicia Rivera, the CFO of Feeding Georgia Families and Mallorye Crowell, the founder and president of The Higher Foundation.
Doing Good: Volunteers get kids picture-perfect for back to school Long before she started The High Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping Georgia college students pay for their education, Mallorye Crowell was into hair. Big time.
August is Black Philanthropy Month, and to honor this month, The Giving Gap is hosting an event called "Giving Gap Celebrates Black Philanthropy Month". This event will spotlight four extraordinary Atlanta nonprofits: Giwayan Mata, All Abroad, Feeding Georgia Families, and US! They have raised $20,000 already for us four NPOs which they will split evenly amongst us four NPOs at the end of August.
The event will be hosted on Wednesday, August 21st from 4 PM - 7 PM in Atlanta, GA. Meet us there by registering with the link in our bio.
Thank you to Heather Infantry and Giving Gap for honoring us and our President & Founder, Mallorye Crowell, for Black Philanthropy Month! Drop some blue hearts ๐ in the comments to show The Giving Gap some Higher Love.

We want to send a special thank you to Jessica Gilchrist, manager of the Steve Lundquist Aquatic Center at the Jim Huie Recreation Center in Clayton County.
In the thick of summer camp while her recreation center was full of excited kids, she found us a space to offer the Back 2 School Braids Program to foster youth and low-income youth. Without her support, we would not have been able to do the program.
Thank you Jessica and Clayton County Parks. Drop some blue hearts ๐ in the comments to show her some Higher Love!

Today concludes our Back 2 School Braids program in partnership with Clayton County and Georgia Division of Family & Children Services. Over 20 foster youth and low-income youth received free box braids to start their 2024-25 academic year strong. We are so thankful for our partners and volunteer braiders for making this new program a success!
This is not the end of a thing but the very beginning. Georgia offers foster youth the State of Georgia Post-Secondary Tuition Waiver which gives them two years of free tuition at Technical College System of Georgia colleges. We want to target those college students with our grants and scholarships to help them go higher above post-secondary educational attainment barriers.
Thank you once again to our volunteer braiders who served during Week 2. Drop some blue hearts ๐ in the comments to show them some love!
