In the spirit of service, not self the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military and their families, both at home and abroad.
As I’m in our nation’s capital for ALA Girls Nation, I’m reminded of the importance of respectful debates and listening to the viewpoints of others.
I know today’s news of President Joe Biden dropping out of the presidential race is a hot issue that has everyone talking. As an apolitical organization, the American Legion Auxiliary does not take sides in political issues, but the organization does encourage everyone to participate in the political process.
So, when discussing this historic day, please remember to be respectful of all viewpoints.
National Commander Daniel Seehafer issued the following statement concerning the assassination attempt on former President Trump:
“The American Legion is deeply saddened about the attack on former President Trump and the shooting of innocent spectators. There is absolutely no justification for violence against any political leader. We are confident that an investigation will reveal any security deficiencies that have occurred but are also grateful for the quick reaction by the brave secret service agents who shielded the president to safety and neutralized the shooter. Our prayers are with President Trump and we wish him a full recovery. We also extend our condolences and prayers to the victims and families of all who have been impacted by this heinous act.”
“In addition to the shooting at the Trump rally, we have seen horrific attacks on Paul Pelosi, Rep. Steve Scalise and former Rep. Gabby Giffords. We should remind one another that political disagreements do not make us enemies. I pray that civility will become the norm in our discourse.”

With the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT) those service members who were discharged under DADT may be eligible for an upgrade to their DD214. After the repeal of DADT, the Under Secretary of Defense authored a Memorandum that provided guidance to veterans discharged under DADT and similar policies on how to correct their DD214 and remove information from the document that indicates that the veteran was discharged under these policies. For more information and help applying, please contact the Attleboro Veteran’s Office by phone at 508.223.2222 ext 3282, or by email at [email protected].

Juneteenth commemorates when the last enslaved African Americans learned they were free. Confederate soldiers surrendered in April 1865, but word didn’t reach the last enslaved Black people until June 19, when Union soldiers brought the news of freedom to Galveston, Texas. That was also about two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Well, it is the last meeting before our summer break. The new slate of officers has been elected and will begin the new 2024-25 year in September. Please consider becoming an auxiliary member, we are a small group with a lot of leadership skills and patriotism for Veterans and their family. Just private message us and I'll send an application your way. Thank you!
As American Legion Auxiliary members, our mission is to mentor all citizens — regardless of age — to understand that the flag gives hope for all citizens who live free and achieve their dreams, creating a brighter future where freedoms are protected by liberty and justice.
The Stars and Stripes 🇺🇸 represent the history of this country’s growth together, with the red stripes symbolizing the sacrifices of those who fought for this country. Each star represents the citizens of each state working together to create a strong country.
Today, June 14, celebrate the 🇺🇸 flag of the United States as you share with your community that our flag 🇺🇸 stands for the essence of Americanism: liberty, justice, strength, sacrifice, and inclusion.

We know her as a symbol of strength, lifting us up during the darkest of moments. Though tattered, she tells us everything will be OK after a tornado rips through her town. We see her all over the place during Independence Day celebrations, taking on forms of banners, decals, and even jewelry. Her name is Old Glory, and you can be sure American Legion Auxiliary members will be displaying her on this Flag Day and every day with pride.
Who are the people in your Legion hood, they are the people that you meet each day like -Don the fireman, Jimmy the contractor,Tom the fence guy, Cecilia the Occupational asst., Sheila the Nurse asst., Jerry the Vietnam Vet.
