Gnome Surf Clinic invites Special Olympics athletes to a surfing clinic
Wednesday, August 7 from 10am to 1pm at Horseneck Beach, 5 John Reed Rd, Westport, MA 02790.

The event is called Epic Day Camp and can have 25 athletes for the event. Each athlete will get a specific time in the water with an instructor plus additional support team in and out of the water. Given that, there are no prerequisites on age and swim ability. We'll also have counselors and volunteers on land.
No experience surfing or swimming needed

Fall Sports Information - We will be using the team reach app (teamreach.com) for all sports teams this fall. Please use this app and join using the group code provided for the sport you choose.
Soccer (group code: gogoangels) will be coached by Scott Charette. We will hold practice Sundays 10:15-11:15am starting Sunday, September 8 at Willett Elementary School, 32 Watson Ave. Attleboro, MA. This is a unified sport where athletes and their neurotypical peers practice and compete together. Please encourage siblings, friends, and family members to participate. Game schedules, and events will be updated in calendar as they are posted.
Cheerleading (group code: cheerangels) will be coached by Gayle Mercier. We will hold practice Sundays at Willett Elementary School, 32 Watson Ave. Attleboro, MA 11:30-12:30pm starting September 8. Game schedules, and events will be updated in calendar as they are posted.
Flag football (group code: angelsscore) will be coached by Drew Mckenna. We will hold practice Thursdays at Capron Park 201 County St. Attleboro, Ma 4:15-5:15pm starting September 5. This is a unified sport where athletes and their neurotypical peers practice and compete together. Please encourage siblings, friends, and family members to participate. Game schedules, and events will be updated in calendar as they are posted.
Co****le (group code: beanbagangels) will be coached by Brianna Lacoste. We will hold practices at Capron Park 201 County St. Attleboro, Ma 4:15-5:15pm starting September 5. This is a club sport, meaning there will not be a competition. You may participate in co****le if you are also on the soccer or cheer team.

In just a few weeks Caron Horn Heller and I will be bicycling 326 miles on on the Ohio to Erie Trail from Cincinnati to Cleveland Our goal is to get away for a bit and challenge ourselves, but most importantly to raise funds for the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation. This will be our 2nd time raising funds for this great organization and we're asking for your help in the fight against this disease which affects so many! 100% of donations goes directly to research! There has been some interest in changing soccer and cheerleading practice from Saturday morning to Sunday morning in the fall. Flag football and co****le club will continue to be Thursday afternoon at Capron Park. Please complete the survey indicating your preference only for soccer and cheerleading. Updates for fall sports will be shared before start of the season. Fall season will begin the week after labor day.

Soccer & Cheerleading Fall 24' Heller's Angles Soccer & Cheer- We have been given the choice between Saturday or Sunday practice at Willett field. The time will be the same on either day 10:15-11:15 AM. Starting the weekend after Labor day (9/7 OR 9/8). Please pick the day you would prefer below.

Bowling season came to an end at North Bowl Lanes in North Attleboro as several Heller's Angels bowlers were awarded "trophy pins" for achieving season-high scores. Hope to see everyone next year!

Heller's Angels Cougars earned bronze medals today in Special Olympics Massachusetts basketball playoff action taking place at the Fieldhouse Mansfield. The team came up just shy in the first game against the May Center Bulldogs, but then went on to defeat Bridgewater-Raynham to secure the bronze. Spring Sports Information - We will be using team reach app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamreach.app&pcampaignid=web_share) for all sports teams this spring. Please use this app and join using the group code provided for the sport you choose. Since the state tournament is on the same weekend across sports, you may practice in more than one sport, but can only compete in one. Please let me know which sport you wish to compete in if attending multiple practices so it can be marked on the roster.
Swim (group code: Angelsswim) will be coached by Susan Mastandrea. We will hold practice Mondays and Wednesdays 5-6pm starting Wednesday, April 3 at Attleboro YMCA 63 North Main Street, Attleboro, MA. In order to be on the swim team, you must already have strong swim skills and be able to float without assistance. Swim qualifier will be held at Mass Maritime Academy (101 Academy Dr. Buzzards Bay, Ma) on Sunday April 28. You must attend qualifier for chance to advance to state tournament. State tournament will be held at Harvard Athletics Complex (65 N. Harvard St. Boston, Ma) on June 8-9, 2024.
Unified Track and Field (group code: RunAngels) will be coached by Hannah Clark. This is a unified sport where athletes and their neurotypical peers practice and compete together. Please encourage siblings, friends, and family members to participate. We will hold practice Saturdays at Haas Athletic Center (9 Fillmore Dr. Norton Ma) 8:45-9:45am (rain dates on Sundays) March 30, April 6, & April 13, 2024. We will move to AHS track (1 Blue Pride Way, Attleboro, Ma) Sundays 9:30-10:30am starting April 21. Track qualifier will be held at Brockton High School (470 Forest Ave. Brockton, Ma) Saturday, May 11, 2024. You must attend qualifier for a chance to advance to state tournament. State tournament will be held at Harvard Athletics Complex (65 N. Harvard St. Boston, Ma) on June 8 (may move back to Nickerson field, BU).
Volleyball (group code: Angelsvolley) will be coached by Katelyn Branangan. We will hold practices Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm at Brennan Middle School (320 Rathbun Willard Dr. Attleboro, Ma) starting March 26, 2024. League play will start in April 13th and will end May 11th at Yawkey Sports Training Center, 512 Forest St, Marlborough, MA 01752. Games will be played every Saturday on a weekly basis. Teams will not necessarily be playing every weekend. State tournament will be held at Harvard Athletics Complex (65 N. Harvard St. Boston, Ma) on June 8-9, 2024.

Qualifying bowling round for Heller's Angels hosted by North Bowl Lanes in North Attleboro. Practice time was cut short due to the number of bowlers so I didn't get as many pictures as I would've liked. (Can't be on the lanes during competition) Thanks as always to our coaches and Special Olympics volunteers without whom this wouldn't be possible!

Congratulations to the Heller's Angels flag football team for winning both games in the MA Special Olympics Massachusetts "Superbowl" held at Gillette Stadium this afternoon. They brought home the gold medal! Enjoy the photos, and thanks to everyone for a great season. Busy day Saturday for Heller's Angels with both the soccer team and flag football teams in action. Thanks to the Wheaton College Massachusetts women's basketball team for coming to our soccer practice and participating in some skills and drills with the athletes. Later in the day our flag football team took a bronze medal in the playoffs held at E. Bridgewater HS. Enjoy the photos!

Basketball will be held at Willett Elementary School gym (32 Watson Ave, Attleboro, MA) on Tuesdays Starting November 28, 2023. Practice will be 5-6pm for athletes age 8-15. Practice will be 6-7pm for ages 16+. There will be league play games on the weekends for the older teams. Schedule will be announced. State tournament will be held on April 7, 2024 for teams that advance. Our basketball teams are unified, consisting of athletes and neurotypical peers. If you know anyone interested in becoming a unified partner, please share this information with them.
Bowling will be held at North Bowl Lanes (71 E Washington St, North Attleboro, MA ) Wednesdays starting November 29, 2023, 4:30-6pm in a 2 game league. State tournament will be March 9, 2024.
All practices will follow the Attleboro school district schedule. If school is cancelled for vacation, holiday, or weather related reason, we will not hold practice that day.

When you arrive at the venue the parking lot to the left of the building is closed due to construction. Unfortunately, this will affect the use of the ramp used for those who need it for entry. We apologize in advance for this inconvenience. They will have gentlemen available to physically assist anyone who needs help up and down the front stairs. They will be there for the entire event.
Parking is available along the street and directly across the street on the grass and along the fence.
Please enter using the stairs in the front of the building and check in there. Dress is business casual. Wear what is comfortable for you. There will be a cash bar and a raffle table with lots of fun prizes to win. We are looking forward to seeing you all there!
