MEAD is a program created to Motivate Excellence in Academics and Divinity in youth scholars attending at-risk schools to continue their success in college. A deserving student is selected to be the recipient of a BRAND NEW car for college at their high school graduation. Tarolyn Otis was our fourth; Rondreka Pitts was our third; Chasity Strowder was our second and Jabril Mohummad was our first recipient!

Well it has been some time since the decision was made, but congratulations to the Senior Class of Glen Oaks High School. The next M.E.A.D. recipient will be a student from this school and we are so excited that Mrs. Walker and Principal August and the entire staff of Glen Oaks High is participating with this program.

Rondreka is the recipient of a 2010 Nissan Versa!!!! Thanks to the fine staff at Istrouma High School; Principal Lewis, Mrs. Crump, Mrs. Moore and the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board and Superintendent Dilworth for accepting this program.

Congratulations to Rondreka Pitts, the 2010 M.E.A.D. Recipient from Istrouma High School. Rondreka maintained a 4.1 gpa even though she had many encounters as a young woman. She will be attending Nicholls State University in the fall with a major in Mathematics.

Well M.E.A.D. fans today is the big day for Istrouma High Schools Commencement. Just think within less than 24 hours someone's child is going to receive a brand new car to help further their education. Spread the word... this is something positive for our youth.

Excitement, excitement, excitement!!! The M.E.A.D. applications have been picked up from Istrouma High School. And the winner will be announced on May 20, 2010 at their commencement. We are so excited for the students at Istrouma and we congratulate every graduate.

Thanks to Principal Lewis, Mrs. Crump, Mrs. Moore and the entire staff at Istrouma High School for welcoming the program.

Well M.E.A.D. Fans we have the date for Istrouma High School's Commencement Exercises. On May 20, 2010 at the F.G. Clark Center on the campus of Southern University, a child is going to be the recipient of a 2010 economy vehicle. Together, we are helping make a child's dream come true!!! We look forward to the presentation at 6:00 p.m.
