A week ago today, we successfully deployed the East Cameron 82 Reef, thanks to our partners at Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Cheniere Energy Inc. Romeo Papa, LLC .
The project, made of 45 precast concrete reef modules set in a modular grid design, is a nearshore reef built to replace lost habitat to the area. The concrete structures were installed in 60 feet of water and spread out in columns and rows to optimize bottom contours and water conditions. The design creates overlapping โfeeding halosโ where a variety of fish species may thrive. In these depths, a diverse range of fish will call these reefs home, including species like red snapper, cobia and more.

Happy Fatherโs Day from CCA Louisiana!
Today, we celebrate the fathers who have shared their love for the great outdoors with us. Whether itโs teaching us how to cast a line, reel in the big one, or appreciate the beauty of our coastal waters, our dads have been our greatest guides and mentors.
At CCA Louisiana, we are grateful for all the dads who have fostered a love for fishing and conservation in the hearts of their children. Your dedication to preserving our coastal resources ensures that future generations can enjoy the same wonderful experiences.
Wishing all the incredible fathers out there a Happy Fatherโs Day filled with joy, laughter, and tight lines!

**Celebrating a Milestone: Louisiana's 50th Artificial Reef Deployment! ๐๐**
Artificial reefs play a crucial role in providing habitat for marine life, boosting fish populations, and supporting coastal fishing. Over the years, these structures have become thriving underwater communities, teeming with diverse species and offering a home for the marine life.
This 50th reef, like its predecessors, was carefully designed and strategically placed to maximize its ecological benefits. The deployment process involved meticulous planning and collaboration with our partners. We are proud to see our vision come to life, contributing to a healthier and more vibrant Gulf of Mexico.
We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone involved in this journey, from our dedicated team at the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Louisiana to our volunteers to our partners Chevron, Danos, and LDWF. Their support and passion for coastal conservation have made this achievement possible.
As we celebrate this significant milestone, we look forward to continuing our work in protecting and enriching Louisiana's coastal waters. Here's to many more reefs and a thriving coastal ecosystem for generations to come!
Join us in celebrating this incredible achievement and stay tuned for more updates on our conservation projects. Together, we can make a difference! ๐๐

ANOTHER REDFISH VOTE TOMORROW (Thursday). Sorry for the late notice but this was originally listed as a discussion item on the agenda and has been changed now to a voting item. The WLF Commission will vote tomorrow on new regulations for redfish.
In November, the legislature rejected a decision by the Commission to implement new limits of 3 fish, 18-24โ slot, no harvest of bull reds and no keeping guide limits.
So now they will vote again tomorrow. From what I am told, LDWF biologists will recommend their original 4 fish, 18-27โ slot, no bulls, no guide limits position. CCA has supported this recommendation from the beginning, and the legislative oversight committee indicated that they would support this position as well.
I know people have a WIDE variety of opinions on this issue. Whatever you believe, I would urge you to send comments TODAY to [email protected]. Again, sorry for the late notice on this, but the late change to an action item has us up against the deadline to submit comments.
Unfortunately I am traveling and wonโt be at the meeting, but we will have folks in attendance. As always, I am happy to discuss. 225-588-4823
