This week we kick off our second residence with a colloquium and masterclass from the amazing Elizabeth Ogonek. We will finish the week with a concert from Boston’s own Sound Icon featuring Ogonek, Erin Gee, Grisey, and our own Joshua Fineberg.

Boston’s own Sound Icon lEnsemble offers a beautiful proposal for where we came from and where we are going to. Featuring two seminal exploratory works of the 1970’s by two of the era’s most brilliant artists, followed by two works written within the last couple of years. These works show how far and how individually composers have gone down those paths opened up by composers like Grisey and Tenney.

I thrilled to announce that after a 2 seasons off the BU Center for Boston University Center for New Music is back!!

This season our artist in residence will be the amazing Georg Friedrich Haas. Events withe Haas will take place in November, February and March. They will include a live performance of HYENA with Mollena Lee Williams-Haas at the The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston with Sound Icon and a concert on November 4 with Argento New Music Project at the newly renovated BU CFA Concert Hall!!
