It was a pretty incredible experience, seeing so many folks (850+)on their mats, practicing together in support of Children's Hospital Boston.....We were dry INSIDE this year, but could hear the torrential and very loud downpour. Thanks to all who supported the event!

Children's Hospital Boston will always hold a special place in my heart, as they have cared for my son during the past 24 years (and continue to care for him despite his age!) Getting those dogs to stay put, was an exercise in patience. In the end, after a good 2 hours, they don’t look all that different. Hopefully less hair = less dirt in the house (and on the bed)!

Often I am feeling "too busy" to take a 60 minute yoga class, and then I remind myself that a downward facing dog pose might be your practice. Sitting and breathing for a few minutes might be your practice. Putting your legs up the wall might be your practice. How you practice may change daily depending on how you are feeling.
And with the holiday approaching, taking time to practice (no matter how long) can help you manage stress or exhaustion. Here's what's happening this week.

2 cool things happened as I was walking the dogs around the Pond yesterday. #1 I saw a deer and I have never seen a deer there in my 30 years of walking.....(and saw that deer 2 days in a row) and the second thing was listening to Krista Tippet (On Being) interviewing Sharon Salzberg (Buddhist meditation teacher and just lovely person) talk about "equanimity" and allowing for darkness and light to co-exist, among other things.
