Tonight’s message from Brent May:

Good evening, this is Brent May from Plain Local Schools. Welcome back. I hope everyone had a great break and took some time to recharge for the last nine weeks. Just some quick updates for all families.

First, our Kindergarten Registration Fair is this Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to noon. You can still sign up for an appointment or just stop in any of our six elementary buildings. Visit bit.ly/24plsk for more information.

Reminder that Monday, April 8, the district is closed for the solar eclipse. No activities, games, or practices will take place on April 8, 2024. Another important reminder is that state testing begins for our students in April.

Finally, we have had a great year so far. And I'm really, really proud of our entire staff and all of our students. I want to keep the momentum going and use that as a springboard into next fall.

If there are concerns or issues, contact us. We want to work with you, and we'll do the same on our end. Like I said, I'm really proud of how this year has gone and look forward to a great ending. Hope you have a great evening and Go Eagles!

Are you aware of the Oakwood Cell Phone/Wireless Communication Device Policy in place?
Please read below and discuss with your student so they understand the importance of this.
Help your student soar!

2023-24 Cell Phone/Wireless Communication Device (WCD) Policy

The Oakwood Cell Phone/Wireless Communication Device (WCD) Policy is that student devices must be turned off during the school day and out of sight. We will have a few "Green" zones that they can appropriately use their devices (example: cafeteria during lunch). Everywhere else, such as hallways, restrooms, and the classroom will be a "Red" zone and the device must not be visible or in use. While in classrooms, students will be asked to place their devices in caddies on the wall. At no time can students take videos/photos of other students or staff. They will not be permitted to make calls, texts, or other methods of communications with their device.

We always have ways for students to communicate with their families in emergency situations throughout the day, which is why they should not be making calls. At no times should a student be videoing other students. Violations of these policies may result in actions taken at school. Please include this in your discussions at home with your child as they learn how to responsibly manage their devices.

Only together, will WE be able to continue to build up a strong learning environment and a support school culture for students to be safe and learn in.

Please reach out if you have any questions, you can either call (330) 491-3790 or email at [email protected].
