Gold Day #1 Part 2

It has been 1 week since the Skills and Talents of our Glenwood Eagles were celebrated at the GWIS Variety Show!!! Amazed and Entertained by how high these Eagle SOAR!!!

Day #1 at 6th grade camp for our GOLD Community!!!

Final day of Camp for 6 Green! The kids were absolutely amazing and were great campers!! 6 Gold arrived today. Be on the lookout for their photos 📸

6 Green at Camp Elkhorn Day 2! The kids have really embraced camp life!! They have had so many great experiences. Stream study, ziplining and high ropes have been fan favorites!! 🥾🐟🏕️

Rubberducks game today with Glenwood Eagles!!!! The team won too, even better!!!!

The GWIS Girls Group has been working hard to beautify Glenwood Intermediate School through a service project thanks to the support of The Buser Family Foundation.

Mrs. Mindi Beitler stands alone as she has graced Glenwood with her smile and support in our main office over the years!!!

She will be SOARing into retirement so soon, and she deserves it!!!! Thank you for all you do!!! 💚💛

Here is what Glenwood Principal Trisha Williams shared about Mindi: “The Glenwood Team would like to offer special recognition to another valued member of the Secretarial Team, Mindi Beitler! After a long career helping staff and students at Pleasant View, Taft, GlenOak, Glenwood, and Middlebranch, Mindi will be retiring at the end of this month. Mindi is a fantastic team player and we have so greatly appreciated her dedication to helping students, teachers, and all of Plain Local during her successful run. We wish Mindi all the best that both life and retirement brings...you deserve it!”

“Mrs. Theresa Ackman is a SOARing Staff member at Glenwood. Her dedication and commitment to enriching our educational experience have had a profound impact on us all. Not only did she organize a nationally recognized speaker to address our entire 5th grade, providing us with invaluable insights and inspiration, but she also demonstrated her innovative approach to education by developing her own interdisciplinary curriculum, seamlessly integrating Language Arts into the Science curriculum through an after-school book club. Her efforts extended beyond the classroom as she coordinated a remarkable schoolwide virtual field trip in collaboration with Cuyahoga National Park, allowing us to explore and learn in ways we never thought possible. Mrs. Ackman also devotes her time to coaching the Science Olympiad team and serving as the building Science team leader, demonstrating her commitment to fostering scientific inquiry and academic excellence for all students. Mrs. Ackman's dedication, creativity, and passion for education truly make her an invaluable asset to our school, and we are immensely grateful for all she does to enhance our learning experience. Quinn has broken her own pacer test record yet again. Coach Shea believes this was the 3rd time she broke the record this year. The previous record was set by Quinn at 92. Quinn set the new record this past week at 94. Big shout out to Quinn for SOARing at Glenwood!!!!

Students in Ms. Wise's 5th grade science classes practiced their understanding of forces and motion by participating in a hands on lab! Students explored the properties of weight versus mass, friction, and the effects of a ramp motion Imported data and two charts and drew conclusions based on their findings!

Ms. Penny and her GWIS riders on Bus 58 have been spreading joy with theme days! They embraced their creativity this week as Peanut Butter & Jelly!!

What a terrific Tuesday 6th grade Band concert where Glenwood SOARing Eagles combined with Oakwood for a wonderful show!!! Everything was AWESOME!!!!

It is truly amazing to see how practice pays off and how much our musicians grow throughout the GlenOak Band program!

6th grade STEAM students completed the treasure hunt challenge by coding their rovers to open and close their claw while driving through an obstacle course.
