Why do people pay for piano lessons?

The answer is….they don’t pay for piano lessons. They pay for so much more.

- They pay for their child to learn what it takes to commit to something meaningful;

- They pay so that their child can learn the magic of creation, of forming something beautiful using their hands;

- They pay so that their child recognises the power of discipline, of working at something consistently, at least five days per week, honing their skills and building their fluency;

- They pay so that their child understands not to quit when the novelty has worn off and the work must set in;

- They pay so their child learns that they must still put in the work, even when tired and grumpy, not just giving up and spending hours on TikTok;

- They pay so that they can learn the joy of creating music with others: listening intently, and learning to chop, change and compromise;

- They pay so that they realise that it’s not just “enjoying themselves” but working meticulously on small details;

- They pay so that they DO enjoy themselves;

- They pay so that their child creates neural pathways that impact every single area of the curriculum;

- They pay so that their child develops the most incredible fine motor skills;

- They pay so that their child sees that art can be transcendent, and can accompany us through our darkest times;

- They pay because music puts us in touch with something that can’t be otherwise expressed.

THE LISTENER Family Concert Series

Listen @ the Library is back and in person for the first time in two years!

Join your local librarian for a story time accompanied by musicians of the Canton Symphony Orchestra! Read and listen to stories while learning about classical instruments.

This series of trio performances introduces students (ages 3-6) to the world of the symphony by pairing music with your favorite stories.

It's not too late to enroll! Joining our class on 10/22 will still leave 7 classes in the semester to enjoy, and tuition is discounted accordingly! Open to children 6 months-6 years old.

*Masks are required for adults and encouraged for children who are able

Fall update-- I am NOT accepting any new piano students as I have to drastically cut my hours due to my son starting kindergarten this year.

However, there WILL be a Family Music Playgroup (ages 6 months-6 years old) fall semester starting toward the end of September or beginning of October, but day/time is still pending as I find out information about the bus schedule. Please check back near the beginning of September for information on the early childhood class!

Yesterday, Landyn accidentally discovered a new artist by asking Alexa to play a tickle monster song. She played one by "Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys" and it was excellent!!
