Professor Sharon Fairley recently shared her federal criminal law expertise with a distinguished delegation from Sweden, including former Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson and her party’s international secretary, Paula Carvalho Olovsson.

The group sought out Fairley’s insights on the federal RICO statute as Sweden contemplates adopting a similar law to combat the rise in gang violence. In addition to teaching criminal law, Fairley is a seasoned federal prosecutor, having spent eight years serving with the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois.
