All proceeds will be divided between the Enrichment Fund endowment and participating artists.

Chicago Takes 10 04/12/2021

This Thursday, April 15th at 6 p.m. CT the National Museum of Mexican Art will present the third Chicago Takes 10 performance.

CNL Projects (assisted by Maura Connors) is thrilled to serve as project manager for Chicago Takes 10, a new, virtual performance series sponsored by the Walder Foundation that supports performing artists and arts organizations who have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The bi-weekly series highlights diverse performance styles throughout the Chicago region, featuring local musicians, performers, and dancemakers. Walder Foundation is also providing $250,000 in grants to 10 nonprofit curating organizations of which $100,000 is restricted for direct support to individual artists.

All performances begin at 6:00 p.m. CT and run 60-90 minutes at www.chicagotakes10.org.

Chicago Takes 10 The series highlights diverse performance styles throughout the Chicago region, featuring local musicians, performers, and dancemakers. With Chicago Takes 10, we hope that artists and organizations will have a new platform to share their work with audiences here in the Chicago region and beyond.

This workshop will be led by The School of the Art Institute Arts Administration and Policy graduate students, who have been working closely with CAMP. The Cultural Asset Mapping Project is a big project we’ve been working on in the Arts & Culture Unit. At its core, it is an attempt to tell a rich and inclusive story about creativity in Chicago. It combines current technologies of geo-location mapping with ancient traditions of storytelling, to survey our creative potential in time and space.

During this workshop, we will go over how to tell your story about yourself or your organization and how to submit your story to the CAMP cultural asset map. You can register for the workshop with the link below or you can show up the day of!

The Enrichment Fund exists to encourage creative risk-taking within the Master of Arts in Arts Administration & Policy (MAAAP) program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. It provides financial support for graduate student projects to strengthen and contribute to the vitality and success of the program.

SAIC’s public facing windows:

New Blood is the annual student festival of performance, live art and time-based work at SAIC.

For the past eight years, New Blood has been produced in partnership with and at Links Hall. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, New Blood XIV will take a new form. Artists have been invited to create performances in SAIC’s public facing windows at 37 S. Wabash in the Sharp Building and at 33 E. Washington the location of the new SAIC Galleries. This reimagined festival will happen Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the second week of November with durational performance work presented in both windows simultaneously. The festival will feature work by Leila Ghasempor, Sal Moreno, Maria Plotnikova, Keny Sánchez, Anthony Sims and Jess Smoot.
