As the Human Resources Department is evolving to meet the needs of the City of Chicopee's workforce, we are happy to announce the welcome of Samantha Wilson of Chicopee, our new Senior HR Generalist.

Samantha comes from a well-rounded HR background, specializing in regulatory compliance, employee benefits and compensation, leaves of absence, and employee relations. She has a BS degree in Psychology from Elmira College in Elmira, New York. Additionally, she has served as an HR Generalist, and HR and Special Events Aide for sizable companies with a presence in multiple states, such as Valet Park of America. Samantha will be integral in helping employees, managers, and others within the City.

This week, we honorably promoted Andrew Galik to Captain in the Chicopee Fire Department. Galik is an individual that takes public safety and leadership seriously. His efforts, both in and out of uniform, have demonstrated both his dedication to the City of Chicopee and to the safety of human life.

Additionally, we celebrated Angie Lukomski, "a rock in the Chicopee Fire Department." She has been with the City for 35 years, supporting the Fire Department, and has worked hard since day one.

Congratulations to Captain Andrew B. Galik on a well-deserved promotion.

And thank you both for your service to the City of Chicopee.

As we get through the recent COVID wave, we note that this week marked one with some changes in the Chicopee Human Resources Department. Here, we give a warm welcome to our new HR Administrative Specialist, Amanda Vazquez.

She is coming to work for the city she lives in and loves. Amanda has over two decades of experience in business administration and nearly a decade in human resources. The HR team in Chicopee is thrilled to have her on board, as we continue to grow and strive to make the City of Chicopee the best place to work!
