Last year, the funds raised on Giving Day went towards scholarships supporting Classics students studying abroad. Many of these students would not have had this horizon-expanding experience without your generous support.

It was an honor and a pleasure to celebrate Lillian Doherty today at the conference "Visions of Women in Greece and Rome." Lillian's intellectual acumen, commitment to teaching, and deeply generous spirit have been an inspiration to so many, as evidenced by the many current and former students and colleagues in the audience. Eva Stehle, Justin Arft, Rachel Lesser, and Katherine Wasdin gave fabulous papers, which built upon and engaged with Lillian's contributions to feminist scholarship in the Classics. Happy retirement, Lillian! UMD Classics is lucky to have had you.
This is just to remind you all that "Visions of Women in Greece and Rome," a conference in honor of Prof. Lillian Doherty, will be taking place tomorrow, both virtually and in person! We hope to see many of you there!
