The largest leaf on the three Colocasia gigantea 'Thai Giant' plants was 31" wide by 35 inches long. We are hoping that the leaves will get even larger as the summer progresses. These plants are somewhat hidden as they are located in the back of the planting bed next to the foundation of Tawes Hall near the Japanese Hardy Bananas. This is an edible plant with proper preparation and has been used for centuries as a food plant. Vietnam and Japan are two countries where that it is used as a food plant.

The spicy, clove like scent of the tiny, Bath's Pink Dianthus, wafted over Tawes Plaza Gardens on a warm, sunny, spring afternoon on April 25, 2016. At -58 to -47 seconds you can see some Art students enjoying their drawing class outdoors. At -22 to -21 seconds are some large 'Mohawk' Viburnum with 'Gravetye Giant' Summer Snowflake spring flowering bulbs in front of them. At -20 seconds are Japanese Hardy Bananas starting to emerge. At -15 seconds is 'Spring Snow' Magnolia which is one of the Loebner Hybrid Magnolias.
