The UMD School of Public Health celebrated the culmination of their UM-STAR and UM-ADAPT summer research programs on August 9th. Thank you to all who came out to celebrate, including Dean Stephen Roth and Dr. Evelyn Cooper!
Undergraduate students from UMD and around the country spent the summer working closely with faculty and graduate students within SPH on research projects including health literacy, cardiovascular physiology, motor control, cognitive function and depression, and racial discrimination and multiple health outcomes. The NIH-funded programs, partially funded by The Graduate School, provide research training for students, typically from historically marginalized groups, so they can better pursue graduate and professional studies.
