Last Thursday we were invited to Patches of Light's 25th anniversary Gala. We had the opportunity to sit next to a family who had received service from POL. The mother said something that really stuck with us... " I was filling out the application and it felt unreal that someone was helping me in such a tangible way." How powerful. Congrats on 25 years Patches of Light. WatersEdge - Wedding & Event Venue

The King Arts Complex, along with Gala co-chairs Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (Honorary), Alycia Broz, Mindy & Mark Corna, Olivia Johnson, and Sheila & Gene Smith (Honorary) invite you to the 37th Anniversary Gala.
This yearβs Gala will be held at the Columbus Museum of Art on Friday, on May 17, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. We will celebrate Demetries, who has successfully led the King Arts Complex for the past thirteen years and has positioned KAC for a bright future.

In the past year, the Columbus Historical Society hosted an exhibit called The Art of Edoardo Alfieri as Generously Donated by the Alfieri-Maisano Archive, Genoa: Celebrating the Special Connection Between Columbus and Genoa, Italy. This exhibit featured fifty-nine pieces by Edoardo Alfieri including nineteen original sculptures and reliefs, one of which is the original plaster maquette for the Christopher Columbus statue, and forty original drawings. This artwork represents a wide range of artistic styles and subject matter. The Art of Edoardo Alfieri was free to view for individuals and groups.
Throughout this month, Community Shares of Mid Ohio will be putting a spotlight on our valued members who are committed to cultivating education and the arts. Stay tuned as we delve deeper into the remarkable work of organizations like the King Arts Complex, COSI - Center of Science and Industry, Ohio Alliance for Arts Education, and the Columbus Historical Society. π¨π

Stop the Suffering Animal Rescue of Ohio focuses much of its efforts in rural southern Ohio, where shelters often lack resources like vaccines and basic preventives. Through their Sponsorship Program, they ensure that dogs in these shelters receive care when they're sick, injured, pregnant, or with babies. For example, Snow, a young great Pyrenees, unexpectedly gave birth in a rural shelter. A concerned individual reached out to us, and we arranged an emergency transport to our veterinarian in Franklin County. Fortunately, Snow and her two babies received the care they needed, highlighting the importance of our work in supporting rural shelters.
Happy Earth Day from Community Shares of Mid Ohio! Today, we're thrilled to celebrate our members who are dedicated to preservation and environmental protection.
