Our Corporate and Community Engagement Team had an incredible time at Root Insurance last Wednesday (the 26th), facilitating a volunteer effort during their all-hands meeting with the technology team! With 110 staff members, we set up three stations: bagging pet treats, preparing bag liners for Meals-on-Wheels, and creating cheer cards for our clients.

Thank you for helping us !

Help us keep Central Ohio’s most vulnerable residents safe during extreme heat! ☀️ 🌡️ Since the annual Beat the Heat fan drive began, LifeCare Alliance has collected and distributed over 22,000 fans! Older adults, people with chronic illnesses, and homebound individuals are more susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. A simple box fan can lower a room’s temperature by 10 degrees and save lives.

that Capriccio Columbus’ concert on Sunday is designated as its “Capriccio Cares” concert. Each season, Capriccio designates a local charity to receive a donation from a free-will offering collected from our audience at one of our concerts. This year, we’ve chosen the Columbus Cancer Clinic, now part of the LifeCare Alliance family of organizations that benefit Central Ohioans in many ways, from food insecurity to health care, personal care services and diabetes services. Your generosity at Sunday’s concert will go directly to support cancer testing, screenings and education to underserved communities in Central Ohio.

Our final concert of the season, “Feel the Spirit,” takes place at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at First Community Church North Campus, 3777 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43221. Tickets available at the link in our bio or at http://capricciocolumbus.org!

Did you know that volunteers deliver 70% of our meal delivery routes?

Volunteering is a powerful way to make a meaningful impact on both your community and your own life. At LifeCare Alliance, our volunteers are invaluable; without them, we couldn't serve all our clients.

Explore our diverse volunteer opportunities:
- Meals-on-Wheels: Pick up meals at one of our convenient satellite locations near your home or work and deliver them to homebound individuals.
- Kitchens: Support our kitchen staff with essential tasks to keep the Meals-on-Wheels program running smoothly.
- Fan Campaign: Pick up fans from local fire stations or volunteer at one of our weekly distribution events.
- Senior Pet Care: Deliver supplemental pet food and supplies to homebound clients through our pet care program.
- Cancer Services Assistant: Assist with check-in procedures and clerical/administrative duties to ensure smooth operations.

You can even volunteer with a group! For more information: https://www.lifecarealliance.org/volunteer/

We are in for some sweltering heat next week. If you think today is hot... it will be more difficult Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday given the humidity expected. Prepare now - check your A/C, get a fan if you can, and check on your elderly neighbors!

Meet Nancy, one of our incredible clients at LifeCare Alliance!

At 80 years old, Nancy successfully navigates life at home while she faces daily challenges like getting out of bed and showering safely.

Thanks to LifeCare Alliance, Nancy receives essential services like occupational therapy, home safety modifications, and wellness care. We have installed a bedrail and a tub-mount grab bar, making her home safer and more accessible. Our dedicated nurse ensures Nancy's foot care and overall health are in check.

With these supports, Nancy feels more secure, self-reliant, and pain-free. She says she feels like a brand new person and is grateful to continue living safely in the home she loves.

We’re proud to make a difference in Nancy’s life and many others like her.

National Cancer Survivors Day is celebrated each year on the first Sunday in June. At LifeCare Alliance, we are passionate about removing barriers to care so that clients can prioritize their health.

Our program ensures no one is turned away regardless of whether they have insurance or their ability to meet co-pays.

Our Cancer Nutrition & Personal Items Pantry provides nutritional supplements to those with prescriptions.

For LifeCare Alliance Cancer Services clients, we also offer transportation to medical appointments, medication assistance, and access to medical supplies. Additionally, we provide breast prosthetics, bras, wigs, hats, and head scarves to help individuals maintain their confidence during treatment.

Today is National Rescue Dogs Day, a perfect time to highlight our senior pet care program. Understanding the deep bond between our clients and their pets, we discovered that some were sharing their own meals with their furry friends, risking both their health and that of their pets. Our pet care program provides pet food, and supplies to ensure pets stay healthy and well-fed. This initiative not only helps support seniors’ well-being and independence, but it also helps reduce shelter intakes! Win-win for everyone!
