Leadership and Teamwork in Action!

Our cadets developed their leadership skills in a fictional scenario, testing their problem-solving and national relations skills. They also perfected their formation movements with precision and pride!
After a long day, they had fun at our cadet social, sharing laughs and making memories. We're so proud of our cadets for their dedication, teamwork, and leadership.

Ohio Wing Encampment Day 5 Update!

Our cadets had a packed day!
They explored AE/STEM career paths with a special guest from the aerospace field, learned about the importance of a drug-free lifestyle, and honed their decision-making skills. Plus, they underwent a rigorous White Glove Inspection, demonstrating their commitment to excellence. They tackled more challenges in the Leadership Reaction Course, showcasing their growth as leaders and team players!

Ohio Wing Encampment 2024 Graduation IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Family members and friends are invited to attend the encampment graduation ceremony taking place at Newton Falls High School, (Newton Falls High School, 907 Milton Blvd, Newton Falls, OH 44444) from 10:15 to 12:15 on Saturday, June 22nd.

All guests are asked to bring their own outdoor chairs for the pass in review section.

Students will be able to be picked up in the parking lot of Newton Falls High School, between 12:15 and 1:15 on Saturday, June 22nd.

Cadets are pushing through challenges and reaching for the stars!

Today's highlights:

Leadership Reaction Course: Teams worked together to solve mind-bending problems that put their leadership skills to the test
Physical Training: Cadets showed off their strength and endurance in running, push-ups, and sit-ups
Aerospace: They headed off into the world of space flight and rocketry, exploring its history and future

The Cadet Plans and Programs Officer for the 2024 Ohio Wing Encampment is Cadet Maj. Shreya Kothnur from the Lunken Cadet Squadron in Ohio Wing and served as the Alpha Flight Commander at the 2023 Ohio Wing Encampment.

C/Maj Kothnur brings wisdom and perspective to the executive staff of 2024 Ohio Wing Encampment - she's a Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training Familiarization Course honor graduate, Ohio Wing Cadet Advisory Council Vice Chair, and is a recipient of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Award

C/Maj Shreya Kothnur is a highly motivated CAP leader who is dedicated to supporting this encampment by utilizing her extensive expertise in the area of Plans and Programs.

Encampment Day 2 Update!

Our cadets are crushing it on their second day of encampment!
Today was a day of skill-building and teamwork, with training in:
Marksmanship: learning weapon safety, shooting positions, and self-discipline
Ground Navigation: mastering compass skills and fundamental navigation techniques
Team Leadership Projects: discovering the power of teamwork and collaboration

Encampment Day 1

We're off to a fantastic start! Our cadets have completed their first full day of encampment and the transformation is already evident. The cadet cadre is impressed with the significant shift in attitude, leadership, and personal performance.

Encampment 2024 Day 1 Update
We had a wonderful time gathering for religious services and then sharing a delicious dinner together. Chicken parmesan with pasta and meatballs was a hit! Ohio Wing Encampment Cadre is preparing for our student arrival at 1300 today. The updated weather forecast and our mitigation plans for heat will allow encampment to proceed as planned. We'll be excited to see you at 1300 today!

Student arrival time and check-in have been changed to 1300 hours on June 15th. The Cadre is on-site and making final touches before cadets arrive.

Long may it wave - Flag Day 2024

Flag Day has been celebrated nationally on June 14 since President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed it a national observance in 1916. Honoring those who sacrificed

On Memorial Day, Civil Air Patrol honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We are forever grateful for their service and dedication to our nation.

The Cadet Executive Officer for the 2024 Ohio Wing Encampment is Cadet Captain Emma Martin from the Wright-Patterson Composite Squadron in Ohio Wing, and served as the India Flight Commander at 2023 Ohio Wing Encampment.

C/Capt Martin has extensive leadership experience and she brings that expertise to the executive cadre. This 2023 Cadet Officer Of The Year is a Daughters of the American Revolution Award recipient, MAR Honor Guard Graduate, and is serving as the Recorder to the Ohio Wing Cadet Advisory Council. She is also currently the Cadet Commander for her home squadron.

C/Capt Martin holds herself and her cadets to a standard of excellence. That's something she does successfully by being an outstanding example of capable leadership.

On this day in 1948, Civil Air Patrol officially became an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force.

- Cadet PAOs from activities such as NCSAs and encampments may enter. All others must have held an eServices duty position as a PAO during the award period.
- The submission portal will be open June 1 [and until then you will not find it] and will accept entries until the end of the day on June 30.
- Look for further announcements in an upcoming Props and MAC Matters email.
- National Volunteer Staff will judge the entries between July and August.

The Cadet Deputy Commander for Support for 2024 Ohio Wing Encampment is C/Capt Izzy Fecher from Wright-Patterson Composite Squadron in Ohio Wing.

C/Capt Fecher brings a level of excellence to the executive cadre of Ohio Wing Encampment with her extensive support background. She's the 2024 Ohio Wing Public Affairs Officer of the Year, a Medical Orientation Training School graduate, the Ohio Wing Recruitment and Retention Officer, and previously served as the Cadet Deputy Commander of Support for her home squadron.

C/Capt Fecher embodies the CAP Core Values, and is dedicated to serving her Wing, through empowering cadets.
