The NIRSA Foundation supports the mission of NIRSA and NIRSA strategic priorities through philanthropy. NIRSA is a leader in higher education and the advocate for the advancement of recreation, sport, and wellness by providing educational and developmental opportunities, generating and sharing knowledge, and promoting networking and growth for our members.

NIRSA Foundation
Founded in 1992, the NIRSA Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that began as a grassroots movement of NIRSA members who wanted to give back to the Association and their amazing NIRSA Family. Our mission is, through fundraising and stewardship efforts, to work in cooperation with NIRSA to enhance the effectiveness of collegiate recreational sports by providing its members meaningful opportunities for scholarship, research, and personal and professional development.
We provide opportunities for members campus rec students and professionals by offering scholarships to various NIRSA educational events, supporting Student Officials Development training at NIRSA Championship Series National Flag Football and Basketball Tournaments, and providing funds for the the NIRSA Research Grant Program. We offer member resources by supporting the Institutional Data Set and Salary Census and publishing the Recreational Sports Journal.
