Corvallis Daytime Drop in Center
The Corvallis Daytime Drop-in Center prides itself as a place where needs are met.
We provide a variety of services to people in the community who find themselves in need.
Much love and thanks to everyone who has brought us donations recently! When sorting through your potential donations, please try to keep it limited to what's on our most recent needs lists. Practical clothing and basic hygiene supplies are our most frequent needs. We appreciate everyone's contributions, but we have very limited space in our little building and don't have room for excess supplies that aren't frequently requested. Again, thank you all so much for your support as we enter this cold rainy season!
It's getting colder and we're in need of donations! If you have any of the following (or anything else warm and dry), please consider bringing in our way.
-Sugar & coffee creamer
-Men's pants, sizes 30-36"
-Underwear (all styles/sizes)
-Sweatpants
-Hoodies
-Coats & jackets
-Gloves
-Beanies
-Rain gear
-Batteries (AA & AAA)

Our first dental clinic at the Drop-In Center was a huge success! Thank you so much to Community Health Centers of Benton and Linn Counties for making this all possible. Their dental team are rockstars!
We will be hosting these free dental clinics monthly at the Corvallis Daytime Drop-In Center, with the next three scheduled for July 26, August 22, and September 23 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The July one is fully booked already, but feel free to walk-in in case there's a cancellation or no-show! Come by and talk to a CDDC staff member if you're interested in scheduling.
Services Available:
-Assessments exam and x-rays: Dentists will look at x-rays and make a treatment plan with you before your cleaning/exam.
-Initial cleaning: Basic dental cleaning. The dental team will let you know if follow-up appointments are needed.
-SDF (Silver Diamine Fluoride) Treatment: This material stops cavities from growing, but does turn the spot where the cavity is on the tooth black.
Superheroes! 🦸💛
....Our second Housing Hero was the Samaritan Health Services Care Hub Team! Pictured here left to right: Anita Earl, Carrie Manley, Susan Avila. Here is what Program Director Dan Easdale had to say about this incredible team:
"Samaritan’s Care Hub is a team of social workers and nurses that
fans out across the three counties, Linn, Benton and Lincoln, to
provide care to the most marginalized members of our
communities. They check on people living in tents, in their cars,
shelters, etc, in whatever weather. They follow up when they leave
the hospital, are willing to physically show up to help assess how
desperately people are needing care who are living outside, they
check wounds, they encourage and hand out huge doses of
compassion! Their patients are often times very ill, they have
cancer, strokes, heart failure, need surgery, had surgery, every
illness imaginable. They have all of this and no place to call home.
And sometimes this team cares for people to the end of their lives.
Imagine what is must feel like to be sick and alone and outside. But
also what it must feel like when this group of angels shows up at
your tent or car to check on you. The service and financial savings
to our community provided by this team is truly remarkable. They
also sponsor respite beds, a place for people to recover. At Third
Street Commons we have been fortunate to host many of the Care
Hub’s clients in respite care. In fact, at least of third of all the
clients at TSC have been connected to the Care Hub Team. At least
every week the Care Hub Team has been on site providing care and
follow up so folks can stay out of the Emergency Room, get
healthy, and have a shot at getting off the streets and into housing.
Our connection to this team has helped us identify and house many of our most fragile and desperately ill unhoused community
members. We are so blessed to be connected to this team of
incredible human beings and pleased to present them with the
Housing Hero Award."
We love our friends at North Star Oregon!

On April 21, 2024, we lost one of our cherished friends, Rick Kleinosky. Rick has been a faithful volunteer for the Corvallis Daytime Drop-in Center for many years. He was the face behind Project Action when it first began, and later joined our Street Outreach and Response Team to meet our most vulnerable neighbors at their campsites. Last week, we honored his memory by doing tie-dye with our guests and adding more color to the world. He will be dearly missed. 🖤
The following is his obituary, and a link to his Tribute Wall where you can share your memories of Rick:
Richard Lis was born on April 30, 1953, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Johnstown High School and was married to Mary Jane Van Cavage of Johnstown. They had a daughter, Heather.
In the 80’s, Rick worked as a laboratory data analyst for Westinghouse. While working there he completed his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
Rick was preceded in death by his former wife Mary Jane and his sister Rose Marie King, of Johnstown. He is survived by his daughter, Heather (Don) May, and granddaughter Olivia of Greencastle, PA: his brothers, Mark Kleinosky, of Johnstown, PA and Matthew (Melanie) Kleinosky, of Toronto, Canada; and many nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces and cousins. Also, he is survived by his companion and best friend, the woman he called his soul mate of 22 years, ‘Marta’. Their love for one another was one of loyalty through thick and thin. From an early age, Rick was drawn to the outdoors and was insatiably curious about nature. Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett were his childhood heroes. As an adult Rick left town on weekends to go solo backpacking to spend time among the wild things that amazed him. In his thirties, his professional career as a chemist lost all its appeal, and he bailed out to go see America while he was still young enough to do it. When money ran out, he learned the ways of the homeless to meet his financial and physical needs and made the outdoors his refuge, camping among the trees. Getting older he gave up this lifestyle and got his own apartment, then spent the last several years of his life “giving back”. If one took the time to know Rick and listened carefully, one would have found him to be full of knowledge and would enjoy fascinating stories of his travels. He arrived in Oregon to pick wild mushrooms and made it his home. He felt lucky to have found a wonderful community in Corvallis. He dedicated his last years to giving back in service to the community, and continuing his art, photography, and poetry, leading, mentoring and inspiring many. Included in the list of Rick’s dedicated and faithful volunteering was the Corvallis Daytime Drop-in Center and Corvallis Sustainability Coalition.
In respect for Rick’s wishes no formal funeral service will be held at this time. A private memorial will happen later.
