‼ Playgrounds! Let's talk about our new playgrounds! 🛝
You may recall at least one park board member (please, no names) was passionate (more like over-the-top) for new playgrounds in the bond. Well, our council district 14 did pretty good, and I'm thrilled to FINALLY share when our new playgrounds will be constructed. Yes, there will be a healthy dose of formal community input for each site's design. 🥳
Council district 14's new playground construction dates are as follows:
Craddock (shade structure only): 2025
Willis Winters: 2026
Cochran: 2027
Cole: 2027
Tietze: 2027
Exall: 2028
And because I know I have at least one faithful follower in council district 4 who advocated for a new playground at Herndon Park, Herndon's construction date is 2027. Hip hip hurray for all the new playgrounds!

Fabulous planting party Thursday night neighbors! Thank you so much to everyone who brought plants, donated, and/or sweated their tushes off to dig in that crazy clay soil and beautify the Living Alley last night. With over $1,500 of donated plants, dirt, and supplies from Site One, Home Depot, Calloways, and Ruibal’s, the space is transformed! Still plenty of room for plant brethren if you want to add to the space.
Be sure to follow our progress on GroupMe! Friends of the Living Alley. https://groupme.com/join_group/100531523/3gJY4grJ
Next step after the rain - mulch! We’ll call in a chip drop, which is essentially a giant free dump truck of a recently shredded cut down tree - wheelbarrows, wagons, and rakes - oh my! ☺️
