🌟 Workplace Wednesday: Meet Ritika! 🌟

Before joining Best Buddies, Ritika was shy and struggled to connect with others. Determined to break out of her shell and form meaningful friendships, she first started in the Friendship program before coming to jobs.

Ritika began to make new friends to share experiences with. Ritika spent her time volunteering at local colleges and libraries before deciding she was ready to work.

It wasn't easy finding the right job—Ritika had specific criteria and faced challenges along the way. But with hard work, encouragement, and patience, she found her place at Gucci! Ritika has learned the ropes, overcoming hurdles like understanding workplace norms, and has quickly become an integral part of the team. Her dedication and quick wit have earned her praise from coworkers, and she continues to amaze everyone with her progress.

While Ritika dreams of becoming an administrative assistant and working full-time, she's thriving in her current role and building the experience she needs for the future. We're so proud of Ritika and all of her hard work! 🌟

Jack joined Best Buddies when we was in high school and then became an ambassador when he graduated. He has since became a Best Buddies global ambassador, advisory board member, and is working towards his independence by working at Bitty & Beau's Coffee , a coffee chain that celebrates diversity and inclusion by employing people with disabilities.

Champion of the Year Season is underway!

Champion of the Year is an 8-10 week fundraising competition that unites Best Buddies supporters as they champion our mission in their communities. The funds raised will directly support our local Friendship, Jobs, and Leadership programs.

On average people with disabilities are not asked about what they want to do when they grow up until age 14, which can put them significantly behind their peers.

Which is why our employment programs are excited to be working with schools to help aid in career exploration and preparing them for the future to ensure every student has the support they need to transition smoothly.
