Thank you Birds Eye View Project
Fear: years ago I was with my team in the Swiss Alps gearing up to jump the Eiger which is a crown jewel in BASE jumping.

Standing on the edge of that rock face (The Mushroom) and checking my emergency procedures, I was as trained and competent as I could have been but no matter how trained you are, the element of fear never leaves your mind.

Before you make any type of leap in life, address your concerns and make absolute certain you are standing in the correct position based on knowledge, not hype.

I jumped and while it was a successful jump, I didn’t perform as well as I could have so it was back to training to get it right.

I’m not an influencer here and don’t have a life long back ground in anything however I am a life long student and will always place myself in circles of expertise to ensure I have a correct understanding to then make my own determination.

This post is not to make you BASE Jumpers nor negate fear, it’s to say we are all the same, have similar feelings and all have the ability to consistently learn from others who have more knowledge. USE IT!

I was terrified when I jumped this exit point BTW and might have quietly crapped my pants.

People always want to do more but sometimes don’t know how to help. This was an awesome colab between Skydive Spaceland Dallas and Birds Eye View Project where 22 of us did a formation jump for the 22 Veterans a day on average that take their lives. You don’t always have to do BIG things to show you care. This was easy for all jumpers to complete and everyone that was on this jump had incredible gratitude for our active duty Military and Veterans.

Do what you can when you can to show love🤟

Story time ~ We learned a lesson in positive mindset and patience yesterday. The weather was absolutely horrible and our jumps nearly didn’t happen. But the team, the Birds Eye View Project crew, and American extreme leadership worked overtime to find a way to make it work. And then the sky opened up and offered the most perfect opportunity to complete the Legacy Jump documentary highlighting Veterans and their journeys of healing.

To all who stuck it out, thank you and job well done!

Team .project was recently on the podcast.

Here's a clip with some wise words from who is the Human Performance Director for the 7X Project.

Heres a breif bio on Alex from the Human Performance Project deck:

Alex Racey served 25 years on active duty in the US Army and deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan 13 times. In 2013, Alex was chosen to be his Unit’s
first Director of Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF). Alex and his team created solutions designed to improve all aspects of the warrior and their family’s human performance: physical, mental, spiritual and social.

He retired as a Sergeant Major in October 2016. Once retired and having spent 21 years at Ft. Bragg, NC, Alex and his family headed west to Colorado.

In 2018 Alex founded First Principles Performance, LLC based on the realization that busy professionals in the private sector had a similar “POTFF” need as the quiet professionals he had served in the Special Operations Command.

Alex finally caught the eye of a girl who wouldn’t give him the time of day back in high school, he and Carly married in 1988 and they currently try to keep up with their 4 kids, 2 dogs and 3 cats in Castle Rock, CO.

Remembering The Battle of the Black Sea in Mogadishu 🇺🇸
Task Force Dagger Special Operations Foundation with .repost
• • • • • •
The Battle of the Black Sea in Mogadishu, also known as “Black Hawk Down”, was part of Operation Gothic Serpent. It was fought on 3–4 October 1993, in Mogadishu, Somalia, between US Special Operations Forces known as “Task Force Ranger” against Somali militia fighters in Mogadishu. Two of the Task Force Dagger Special Operations Foundation Executive Board Members were a part of this operation.

The primary mission/objective of Task Force Ranger was to capture Mohamed Farrah Aidid, a Somalia clan leader who was wanted by the Unified Task Force in response to his attacks against United Nations troops during the ongoing humanitarian mission trying to feed the starving Somali civilians.

What many people don’t know is the connection between this operation and the War on Terror. Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden had a hand in training and equipping the Somali militiamen that TF Ranger fought. Emboldened after US political actions, then deadly al Qaeda attacks in the Horn of Africa against U.S. targets in 1996, 1998 and 2000 followed, leading up to 9/11. (Don’t forget the Feb 1993 Al Qaeda first attack on the World Trade Center)

Please join us in remembering all those that fought and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield during this fight.

As I type this through tears, I am moved by the power of this one human interaction. The pain and desperation in the veteran's voice is one so many are hiding at this very moment.
The trooper immediately shows compassion whilst still maintaining his own safety. He tells him his name and let's him know he's there to help.
In a few short moments the veteran goes from crisis to simply wanting to hug. Trust is the most important currency humans can carry.
Let this video remind us that compassion may literally save a life in a profession where it is often beaten out of us. This is a beautiful reminder of some of the incredible men and women in uniform.
There is an international mental health crisis and the statistics we're given are just the tip of the iceberg.
If you are struggling, know you are not a burden, that your brain is lying to you. Know that your friends and family want nothing more than simply to help you heal.
If you are not struggling, then you need to be part of the solution. Be vulnerable yourself and create and environment in that people trust you enough to ask for help.
This crisis won't be solved by push ups or 5ks, but by compassion and community.
Incredible work Kyle Kaelberer!. Thank you for being the human we all need. ❤️

BIRDMAN 🇺🇸🇺🇸

The second recipient of the David R. Metcalf True North Award at the Evening of Honor on Sunday, September 11th was David Metcalf’s sniper partner, Ryan Parrott. A fitting tribute as Ryan actually referred to David as his True North

Ryan Parrott served eight years as a Navy SEAL and was a member of SEAL Team 7 with David. Ryan established Sos of the Flag, a non-profit organization to help burn survivors and their families find the support and medical attention they truly deserve.

That's not all, he is also the author of Sons of the Flag: Real Accounts From the Last 100 Years of American Service and founder of the Birds Eye View Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the extreme needs of veterans and first responders through extreme sports.

Currently, he is leading The Human Performance Project—designed to give the next generation a better roadmap for wellness through physical, mental, emotional and spiritual guidance from world renowned experts. The Project’s first mission is ambitious—traveling to seven continents to perform seven jumps, seven marathons, seven swims in honor of David and Navy SEAL Team 7 with one goal—to help solve for su***de.

Please join us in honoring Ryan as a 2022 David R. Metcalf True North Award recipient!

Words are difficult to gather when we think lf this day. Anger, remorse, confusion, and even more anger rise to the surface. But each year, we must never forget those emotions. We must never cease reflecting on them. Do not live down their sacrifice. Do not live down the people who took up the call and went thousands of miles away to ensure this wouldn't happen again.
God bless America.
