COLD WEATHER REMINDER!!!

As the outdoor temperatures drop, cats will hide under car hoods for protection and warmth.

Use caution when you start your car in the cold winter months. If cats are left outside, they may climb under the car hood for protection from the cold. Before you climb into your car, slap the hood or open it for a quick look around.

Chocolate Isn’t the Only Scary Thing Threatening Your Pet This Halloween | Pet Poison Helpline Most dog owners know that chocolate is dangerous to pets. That was the situation when Randi Stats’ Labradoodle Charlotte ingested the majority of a 4.5-pound bag of Kirkland Signature Semi-Sweet...

Just a reminder to do what you can to take care of those outside cats when it is cold.
**Provide more food than usual
**Provide a warm place for them to escape the cold
**Try to keep water from freezing (rubber bowl, raised, salted)
**Check cars before starting - bang on the hood and look

If you can make some winter shelters as shown, that is fantastic! If you have free-roaming cats in your neighborhood, do what you can to create a warm space using a box facing away from the wind, raised off the ground if possible, or open a shed or garage door slightly... just be creative. And of course, if you have indoor/outdoor cats - BRING THEM IN!

SYNOPSIS: A dedicated group of people in Brooklyn devote their days and nights to rescuing abandoned or otherwise homeless kittens and cats. Of course, the animals are adorable, but the people are equally inspiring. Their love and commitment to actually making a difference to the lives of these animals and to affecting social change concerning the environment, local laws and public policy is remarkable.

This is so URGENT. Just make a quick phone call. We cannot go backwards and limit access to low cost wellness, spay and neuter services that would increase the number of animals killed in a shelter. Make the call at the number below, Just takes a second - and leave your name and city you are in and why you are calling - H.B. 3806. Please read below. Thank you.

We need you to make one phone call or send one email to allow us to keep helping our area with low cost spay, neuter and vaccines.

Please call Representative Drew Springer by Friday of this week at 512-463-0526 to let him know that H.B.3806 isn't good for Texas people and their pets.

You can also email him at: https://house.texas.gov/members/member-page/email/?district=68&session=86

This pending legislation would dramatically limit TCAP's ability to help many people and their pets with important, life saving wellness services by limiting many of our wellness services to only citizens who are enrolled in state or federal aid programs. This would be a devastating set back to Texas animal welfare. There's a hearing Monday of next week. Please call today.

H.B. 3806 is bad for Texas people and pets.

It's important that you call soon to let Texas Representative know that H.B. 3806 shouldn't be introduced.

You can read H.B. 3806 in its entirety here: https://www.texasforthem.org/hb3806/
