Recent advancements in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) are revolutionizing depression treatment by optimizing stimulation protocols.

Traditional TMS involves 30 sessions over six weeks, while theta burst protocol reduces treatment time with equivalent efficacy. The SAINT protocol, offering an intensive one-week treatment, demonstrated a remarkable 90% remission rate in a Stanford study, providing quicker relief for severe depression.

At TMS Center of Colorado, enhanced protocols using the Brainsway deep TMS device have shown promising results, offering patients effective and efficient treatment options.

TMS Center of Colorado was the 1st clinic in the state to offer accelerated TMS and Deep TMS.
Our therapy is referred to as “Deep TMS” because, unlike traditional TMS therapy, Deep TMS (dTMS) reaches into the deeper (limbic) areas of the brain that impact mood regulation and motivation. In fact, Deep TMS (dTMS) is able to pe*****te 3.2 cm into the brain versus only .7 cm with standard TMS (rTMS). This has shown to be more effective than standard TMS in treating depression, and it is the only TMS therapy that is FDA-cleared for OCD.

Self-care is not just bubble baths and pedicures. Self-care is tending to your mental health in a way that addresses the root of the issue, not just a temporary band-aid.

TMS therapy has been proven effective to treat major depression in people who have not responded to medications or talk therapy, has no systemic side effects, and is FDA-approved. The TMS Center of Colorado has seen a response rate in 4 out of 5 people.

If you've tried other methods without sufficient improvement or if you've had negative side effects, maybe it's time to try something new.

1985!
First available in 1985, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has been used by researchers around the world to help understand the function of different parts of the brain.
Since then, TMS has been studied and used as a treatment for depression, and other mental health disorders. Brainsway Deep TMS received FDA clearance in 2013. Fun fact: TMS Center of Colorado was the very first in Colorado to offer Deep TMS and Accelerated TMS. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a series of magnetic pulses on a targeted area of the brain to relieve symptoms of a mental illness. The repeated exposure stimulates neurons in the brain which has been effective in treatment-resistant depression and other illnesses.

TMS works by targeting the areas of the brain that are responsible for mood regulation and balances out chemicals to relieve depression.

Even with the various mental health treatments available, there is a disproportionate difference between the number of males experiencing mental health disorders and those seeking treatment. Mental health, particularly among men, has gained momentum in becoming the “other” silent killer.

Why is this?

Men who experience mental health illnesses often fall victim to the societal stigma of what ""masculinity"" is. This can result in men not feeling comfortable enough to talk about their struggles or to seek expert support. The TMS Center of Colorado hears you, and we're here to support you!
