UTEP PMBA Students Naomi Ramirez Aizawa, Victoria Rae Espinoza, Ethan Benckwitz, and Daniel De La Cruz represented UTEP and the Woody L. Hunt College of Business MBA program at the National Sports Forum’s Case Cup Competition. UTEP was one of twelve teams from across the United States (and Australia) that competed in this year’s competition as part of the National Sports Forum (NSF) held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The NSF Case Cup is the premier MBA/Masters case study competition, and it takes place at the annual National Sports Forum conference. It's designed to give students real-world experience and invaluable insight into sports sponsorship, ticket sales, marketing, and business development.
This was the sixth consecutive year that UTEP sent a team to the competition. We are proud of Naomi, Victoria, Ethan, and Daniel’s performance. Go Miners!

Congratulations on this outstanding achievement, EMBA Cohort XIII.
Ed Escudero and Leila Melendez, Hunt College's 2023 Distinguished Alumnus and Gold Nugget recipients, visited the UTEP Graduate Business Center in Downtown El Paso to participate in a Lunch and Lead panel with MBA students, campus partners, and community advocates. During the panel, Escudero and Melendez shared the role UTEP played in their lives, the importance of giving back, and the value of mentors as a career evolves. The College thanks them for sharing their time and expertise with the Lunch and Lead participants.

The UTEP Woody L. Hunt College of Business was excited to host the 2023 Executive MBA Council Southwest Regional Conference at the UTEP Graduate Business Center, home of the Executive MBA program in Downtown El Paso.
Amazing faculty and administrators from Texas and New Mexico business schools who offer MBA Programs engaged, networked, and exchanged ideas while they explored the intersection between higher education, , technology, and the private sector.
Among many thought-provoking seminars, UTEP faculty and academic partners specified how higher education can leverage existing and emerging technologies while earning market-driven certificates and micro-credentials through their academic programs.

The UTEP Professional MBAs immersed themselves in a study abroad program in Munich, Germany over spring break. Their week-long program, led by Dr. Erik Devos, Senior Associate Dean for the Woody L. Hunt College of Business, involved students learning about Germany’s importance in the European Union, the automotive industry, defense, and space industry, non-profit sector, along with various speakers, company visits, and engagement with Germany’s culture, traditions, and food. Also embedded in the week was a Q&A session with the company of their experiential learning project-Re:Drink, to learn more about the sustainable beverage industry.

During their Spring Break, the UTEP Executive MBAs (Cohort XIII) immersed themselves in Panama City! Their week-long program led by Dr. James Payne, Dean of the WLH College of Business, involved students learning about Panama’s strategic location, supply chain, logistics industry, and biodiversity from guest speakers, company visits, and engagement with Panama’s culture, traditions, and food. Also embedded in the week was a Q&A Session with the company of their experiential learning project-Buenaventura Golf and Beach Resort, to learn more about the resort industry in Panama.

UTEP PMBA Students Aileen Wiebe, Stacey Huhn, Maria Margarita Gomez, Garren Pride, and John Mark Joy Madhu represented UTEP and the Woody L. Hunt College of Business MBA program at the National Sports Forum’s Case Cup Competition (NSF) held in Los Angeles, California.
The two-and-a-half day forum offered multiple workshops, expert panels, and discussions on various aspects of the business side of sports as well as visits to some iconic sports venues in the Los Angeles area. Moreover, it allowed students to network with a wide range of sports industry professionals.
This is the fifth consecutive year that UTEP MBA students have represented in the competition.

To celebrate Homecoming Week, the UTEP Graduate Business Center hosted 2022 Gold Nugget recipients Armando Castorena and Lisa Saenz for an engaging and inspiring Lunch and Lead session. Armando and Lisa shared their stories and reflected on the importance of servant leadership, meaningful mentorship, and adapting skillfully to a changing workforce while fielding questions from current students, alumni, and faculty.
