Happy Tuesday, CHS Miners! ⛏ We're pleased to share good news today. Professor Emeritus Mark Lusk (Dept. of Social Work) and his colleagues in Europe, Melinda Madew (Germany) and Marcin Boryczko (Poland) have published a book, Decolonized Approaches to Human Rights and Social Work, with Springer Nature (Switzerland). The edited volume summarizes the challenges of international social work and human rights in a post-colonial world. Contributors from the global south and north discuss the regional issues social workers face in advancing human rights. UTEP Social Work faculty Erica Balderrama, Araceli Garcia and Eva Moya authored the chapter on decolonized approaches to human rights in the United States.
