Today, The University of Texas at El Paso announced the establishment of UTEP Health, a renewed focus on meeting the health needs of the Paso del Norte region by educating more healthcare workers and advancing research into Hispanic health.
UTEP Health unites the efforts of all its colleges that focus on health-related research and education. With $4.5M in support from the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, UTEP will help address critical needs in the healthcare profession.

Always ready. Always caring. (from left) Paul Rodriguez and Araceli Meza, both Registered Nurses in UMC's Emergency Department, register and prepare to retrieve medications for patients arriving today. UMC's Emergency Department is home to the region's only Level 1 trauma center, able the receive and care for the most serious injuries and illnesses.
Both Paul and Araceli (and the rest of the department) stay very busy caring for patients in our Emergency Department, where more than 80,000 patients arrive for emergency care every year.
