The purpose of the Parks and Recreation Department is to provide indoor and outdoor leisure services to persons of all ages so they can develop skills, socialize, experience, nature, relax and live a healthier lifestyle.
Don't miss out on an Olympics Youth Sports Camp at Don Haskins Recreation Center, 7400 High Ridge Dr.
A one-week sports camp providing a structured setting for youth to engage in various physical activities, through sports such as basketball, volleyball, kickball, dodgeball, and more!
The camp runs Monday through Friday from July 29 to August 2, beginning at 9 a.m. for anyone ages 12 to 14.
Cost is $40 per participant with individual in-person registration only.

Looking for a Lil' All-Star Skills Challenge? Armijo Recreation Center is having an event for young players ages 3 to 4 on Thursday, July 18 starting at 6 p.m. at Armijo Park, 700 E 7th Ave.
Participants will compete in various skill challenges, including a 50m dash, obstacle course, hurdles, soccer kick, and more!
Registration is now open through Wednesday, July 17 at any recreation center. The cost is $5 per participant with limited space available.

Rise and Shine it's Pickleball Time!
In collaboration with El Paso Animal Services, join our 18 and older Pickleball Tournament on Friday, July 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Wayne Thornton Community Center at Grandview, 3134 Jefferson Ave.
Entrance fee: Fleece blankets, pet toys, leashes, harnesses, pet bowls, collars, and kitten formula. All proceeds will be donated to the City of El Paso Animal Services.

The Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to the Final Design Community Meeting for The Beast Urban Park Phase II.
The public can review and talk with staff about the final design for the park’s second phase, which will begin construction in early 2025. The second phase of the $7 million enhancement to this existing park, will include the following services and amenities:
• Four baseball fields with shaded bleachers
• Two sand volleyball courts, two handball courts, and six pickleball courts
• Two basketball courts and a futsal court
• Two new pavilion shelters, and a food court area
• An enlarged restroom building with a tool storage room
• Parking area, and the installation of landscaping and irrigation systems
The development of The Beast Urban Park is part of the City’s commitment to enhancing El Paso’s quality of life through the creation of recreational, cultural, and educational environments.
