Congratulations to our friends at NDI and all the DREAMERS!

Let’s celebrate! This new year marks the 10th anniversary of the NDI DREAM Project (Dancers Realize Excellence through Arts and Movement), an inclusive dance program that partners children with and without disabilities to create original choreography and performances that highlight the unique abilities of every child. As we gear up for our upcoming 2024 DREAM Alumni Homecoming on February 23 (!), we plan to share “Where are they now” posts about many of the dancers who have graced our DREAM stages through the years. Stay tuned for updates, images, and reflections on how DREAM impacted and continues to impact their lives.

A little more about DREAM:
In this unique program, children with a wide range of disabilities and a group of age-matched, nondisabled peers from NDI’s Advanced Teams become partners, dancing and performing together with the goals of maximizing participation, and challenging every dancer to achieve their best through teamwork, creativity, empathy, and discovery. The program culminates in a performance celebrating each child’s success, the joy of inclusion, and the transformative power of dance and live music.

DREAM was co-created by NDI Artistic Director, Kay Gayner, and Pediatric Physical Therapist, Dr. Agnes McConlogue Ferro. Our week-long workshops are held twice per year, in February and August, at our Center in Harlem. The program serves dancers ages 8 to 16 years old and is offered free-of-charge to all participants.

Kids Excel at Club Borrego - Boys & Girls Clubs of El Paso Our Texas ACE partner, Kids Excel led the culminating performance for their 3-week residency at Club Borrego.

On Wednesdays, Teaching Artists and Musicians wear pink and recognize Breast Cancer Awareness month 🙂
