Recently, 4FSMP “Oasis DUSTOFF” visited Dr. Sue Shook Elementary School for the annual career day. SFC Booker, 4FSMP PSG, educated students on the MEDEVAC mission and the role of the flight paramedic and recruited some future Soldiers! DUSTOFF!

The end of an era and the beginning of a new one! This past month, CPT Aguilera formally changed Echo company command with CPT Bosseler! The Desert Knights are incredibly thankful for everything CPT Aguilera accomplished during his tenure and are excited to see CPT Bosseler excel in the position! Echo Company is a unique and challenging command as Echo supports the entire battalions fuel, sustainment and ground maintenance operations!

Recently, your Lonestar DUSTOFF supported the 1AD Delayed Evacuation Casualty Management (DECM) course by responding to nine-line evacuation requests from students during their culminating exercise. The purpose of the course was to train combat medics to hold and sustain patients for 24 hours or more before an evacuation platform becomes available, a highly valuable skill during Large-Scale Combat Operations.

ICYMI, the Black Knights Chinook Company painted the iconic Black Knight chess piece on all their aft pylons. In anticipation for DSCA/DCRF operations, the Chinook Company will now fly all around the US with their recognizable logo and represent the Desert Knights with pride wherever they are called!

The Desert Knights congratulate 13 Lonestar DUSTOFF crewmembers on earning the Sikorsky Corporation Rescue Award for participating in a lifesaving MEDEVAC mission in a Sikorsky helicopter. These DUSTOFF Soldiers epitomize the Army Values and truly represent what it means to be on the Desert Knight Team!

ICYMI, LTC Powell and CW4 Cunningham presented the Black Knights Chinook Company with numerous maintenance and flying hour awards. Afterwords, LTC Powell spoke to Bravo Company about the importance of safe and efficient maintenance being critical for the Desert Knights to provide heavy lift support capabilities for the division. Lastly, LTC Powell and CPT Cho bid farewell to 3 flight engineers PCSing to Honduras (CPL Vasquez, SGT Merrill, and SGT Rodriguez) and thanked them for their exceptional service while stationed at Fort Bliss.

Last week, Charlie Company, 3FSMP “The Herd” conducted dynamic hoist training in the Fort Bliss training area. As the Desert Knights assume DSCA/DCRF responsibilities here shortly our DUSTOFF Company will be ready to execute real-world hoist rescue missions wherever they are called!

The focus, current and future modifications for existing army aviation attack platforms, Company Officer Professional Development (OPD), and the recent EUCOM Rotation recap/feedback.

During the visit, SPC Johnson from Fox Company, 2-501 GSAB “Knight Watchers” was coined for is outstanding service throughout his time as a Desert Knight and his future leadership potential!

Our Delta Company/2-501 “Dragon Slayers” and Bravo Company/2-501 “Black Knights” have been killing it in Esbjerg!!!

They moved 12/12 Chinooks (CH-47F) in two days and are already 10/12 blades removed.

Led by 1LT Cooper/SSG Borda form B Co and 1LT Hoffman/SSG Simpson from D Co, these outstanding professionals maintain the pace as the Desert Knight Team closes out the EUCOM rotation strong!!

On 8 May, 2023 Task Force Desert Knights (2-501 GSAB, 1AD CAB) officially transferred authority to Task Force Knighthawks (2-3 GSAB, 3rd ID CAB), signifying the crowning achievement of 9 months of service abroad for Team Desert Knights!

A ready and capable force, The Knighthawks now stand watch over AO Victory North as the premier General Support Aviation Battalion in the region. Clear Skies and Tailwinds!

Thank you to our NATO and Multinational Partners who helped us to assure our commitment to peace, deterred our adversaries and reinforced the bonds that keep our nations free throughout our deployment!
