Updated Bio for Miss Amy! Her wonderful fosters are working through some stranger danger that has popped up as we have gotten to know her.
Updated Bio: Amy came in to rescue along with Jeff. They were in desperate need of vet care and haircuts. Now their new coats have come in and they are soft and mat-free!
Amy is a 2 year old, standard aussie at about 40 pounds. She is playful and friendly once she gets to know you, but is wary at first and requires slow introductions. She is most wary of men and children. She is a bit of an attention hog, but isn't rude about it. She simply knows that people give the best snuggles and she never passes up an opportunity to get some head scratches.
Her foster is taking her through obedience classes to work on her socialization and confidence building. Her perfect family would continue classes with her and take the time to do slow introductions.
The details:
Needs fence: No
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with kids: 13+ with slow intros
Good with cats: no exposure

Piper has perfected the "Aussie C" to get butt scratches. This 6 year old spayed female will be posted soon but is available for applications now. She LOVES all people and is house and crate trained. She can be dog selective but had doggy friends in her first home so may be fine living with another dog.
Curtesy Post: this dog is not with ARM and any adoption will be a private one with the owner. Contact information at bottom of description. Owner is allergic, having severe health consequences and has tried all medical options to keep dog.
Totino
Shepherd Mix
17 Months – Male/Neutered – Medium – Black/White
Characteristics
loving, loyal, fun, goofy, intelligent, inquisitive, energetic
Coat Length - Medium
House Broken as well as crate trained
Health: Vaccinations up to date, negative heartworm test June 2024, neutered
Totino is loving, loyal, fun, goofy, intelligent, and an inquisitive pup who loves to play fetch, play with puzzle toys, and to chew on his chew toys. He loves to be outside and can’t wait to go on his daily walks. He likes to learn new tricks and new commands (so he can get treats). He also loves to go to Doggy Daycare and play with all of his friends there. He is house broken and crate trained. Totino has completed Level One Obedience Class as well as Walking on a Leash Class.
Totino is (by nature) anxious around new people but once he gets to know them he gladly accepts their petting. While on a walk, Totino will occasionally let another dog/person that he passes know that he is there. He is working on this. Totino loves to be petted. He gets so excited when he is petted that he gets a little mouthy at times. He is working on this as well.
Totino would flourish in a home that has a large fenced in yard or on a farm. He should also do while in a home with another canine pal. Totino has not had the opportunity to be exposed to children (of any age) or to felines.

Aussie Rescue of Minnesota is greeting fairgoers in the Pet Pavillion today.
Come see us at the Pet Pavillion at the Minnesota State Fair on Monday August 26th.
With school starting up soon, it can be hard to get the long walks in. Offering meals in a puzzle or snuffle mat is a great way to work your dog's brain and burn off some of that extra energy. Check out adoptable Sparky's nose at work!
You don't even need a fancy puzzle or snuffle mat. Use the grass outside as a snuffle mat by sprinkling their food in the lawn. Roll up a towel with food inside, make it more difficult by tying the towel in a knot! A box with toilet paper rolls or packing paper works great as well!

Boom Boom was adopted this weekend! He's off to new adventures of being a dog that spends some time at work, going to the cabin, and enjoying time on the water with his new person. Congratulations 'BB'!

The momma was no where to be seen when they went to get her. She has always been very friendly. The fear is that either she was killed or she ran off to hide and have her babies.
Adopted! Lovely Bella went home today to start training as a hearing dog. Thank you Grete Krause for making the connection!

Update 3: Thank you everyone!! We currently have a foster for this lucky mama dog. If you would like to foster for us we have about 7 dogs on our waiting list. Please fill out a foster application at www.aussierescuemn.com or contact us if you already have done so. We couldn't do this without our fosters! We are so thankful for all of you!
Update 2: This is Laura .. Thank you EVERYONE for sharing and offering help. We still don't have a foster pinned down. If you are serious about fostering this mom and babies please send me a pm. FB won't let us pm people from this page and many have messenger on private. We really need someone fairly close to our vet in Elk River in case we need them suddenly. You don't need to be experienced, just willing to clean up a lot of puppy poop ☺️
Update: We are getting desperate. This mom needs a spot by Sunday. Puppies will likely not survive if we can't take them. And we can't take them without a foster.
Anyone interested in whelping a litter of pups? Pregnant female is a surrender from the family we got pups from earlier this year that were emancipated and near death. Both females are pregnant again. They are willing to give up older female who is due in next 1 to 3 weeks.

Now that the human Olympics are over, let's focus on the real deal: doggo Olympics! ARM has one that we'd love to nominate to be our representative athlete.
Meet Dodger - he's a beautiful 1 yr old red tri weighing approximately 40 lbs who came to rescue as a live trap stray. He is incredibly athletic, able to clear a 6' ft chain link fence (we tell him that using the links to boost himself over really shouldn't count, but there's no diminishing his attitude!). He's one that will jump in the air next to you to show off his ability to do high jump; let's be real, he'd win the gold medal! If he's not competing in an event, that's fine - he's an excellent cheerleader with his exuberant barking when he's excited or needs to tell you that you're about to step out of bounds. Watch those lines!
He is the type who loves his people, plays well with other dogs, and would benefit greatly from an active household and if there's an active doggy friend already residing there, even better - team events are always more fun! If you have ever wanted to try any type of agility, flyball, or skjording (seriously, the sky is the limit for this guy), Dodger is game - he is a really special boy and deserves his forever home where he can live out his days as an Olympic champ. Ever the well disciplined athlete, he does have an "off" switch, enjoys his naps on the couch, and is quiet in his crate all night long. (Gold covered doggy treats are very welcomed.)
The details:
Needs fence: Yes - solid 6' fence is highly recommended
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Unknown - no exposure
Good with kids: Teens or older

Introducing Ranger! This nearly 4 year old handsome neutered black tri, weighing around 45 lbs, is looking for his forever home.
Ranger is a smart and active Aussie that would benefit greatly from an experienced home who is willing to accept that he has some flaws that might be considered deal-breakers for some homes. While Ranger is currently residing in a foster home with dogs, his doggy interactions have to be monitored. He has come a long way and is now playing with the other dogs more appropriately. However, his ideal home would be that he's the only dog.
He is just lovely with his people - loves attention and wants to be with you, even to the point where he has escaped out of traditional indoor dog kennels and requires a heavy duty crate if he is expected to stay in one when you're gone. He doesn't require a fence, but it will be highly recommended that he's on a leash until his relationship with you has been established. His foster has shared that he really is such a good boy that wants to do his best, but needs consistency and structure. He has stranger danger that has improved at his foster home with set boundaries and slow introductions.
Ranger also isn't one to ignore his breed's specialty! It makes perfect sense to him that when multiple people and dogs are around, that they should be herded to wherever he feels they should go - having an experienced dog owner to help him channel his energy and work drive will be of significant benefit to him.
The details:
Needs fence: Not long-term, but should be on leash or temporary fenced area until relationship is established.
Good with cats: Dog savvy cats only
Good with dogs: Ideally, no
Good with kids: 13 and older

Adopted! Meet Mercy! Mercy is a year and half yr old Australian shepherd with a fluffy full tail who was recently surrendered by her family as they no longer had time or space for her. She is good with kids, people and dogs. She does OK with dog savvy cats but requires supervision as she does like to chase.
Mercy loves to play fetch, go on long walks and get lots of snuggles and pets. She is a very sweet and curious girl who has a lot of energy. She loves meeting new people but has a tendency to jump a lot, she gets very excited and is currently working on the “off” command. She is a very smart girl, crate and potty trained. She is looking for an active family who can keep her busy, build a consistent schedule and continue with her training.

Jeff came in to rescue along with Amy. They were in desperate need of vet care and haircuts. Now their new coats have come in and they are soft and mat-free!
Jeff is a 5 year old standard sized aussie at about 40 pounds. Jeff enjoys the companionship of another dog in his home. He likes people, but needs people who are patient as he can be timid at first. Jeff will need a fence and a dog companion in his future home. He has not had exposure to cats at his current foster home.
