Good afternoon and happy Friday!🥳 We would like to introduce you to Katie, she is our most recent graduate at Fort Worth Teen Challenge. We hope you enjoy her testimony as we have enjoyed having her be a part of the TC family. Glory be to God! Look what the Lord has done!🙌🏼✝️
“ I spent most of my life convinced that God had abandoned me and I was unworthy of anything better than what life was dishing out to me. I was in a storm with no life raft getting crushed wave after wave barely able to come up for air. I was surrounded by people who loved and cared about me but I was so blinded by my own self pity to ever realize the support I had around me. I made choices that caused extreme chaos in my life and I saw no way out.
But God had plans for my life that I never thought possible. God is capable of the impossible. I had to come to a place in my life of complete brokenness and desperation for something different. I made a life changing choice to get up and walk forward in to the arms of my Father. He had been there all along waiting for His daughter to return, He never left me, I never went one day without Him by my side. As I look back today I can see where He protected me and was there with me through the many tears and pain. God has taken all my brokenness and is using it for His good, nothing of my life is wasted! He can do the same for you, I am living proof of the miraculous power of God our Father! I am loved today and have worth and stand blameless by the blood of Jesus Christ! Don’t give up He is waiting for you! All you have to do is reach for Him!”
🙌
My name is Karri Jo,
The woman I am today was not the woman I use to be.
My whole life I looked for guys to fill this emptiness I felt in my heart, I soon found myself dropping out of high school at 16 and I became pregnant at 18. I gave birth to my twin boys and found myself being a young single mom. Luckily, I had my dad helping me with every step. Having my boys brought so much joy in mine and my dads’ life.
.
Then tragedy struck our family, and my dad was sentenced to 45 years in prison.
It hit me so hard. I had never been alone or ever without my dad. I hit a deep depression and just stopped caring about everything. I stopped being the mother my boys needed, the daughter my dad needed and the friend I needed to be.
.
I began seeing a guy who brought adventure into my life. I stopped coming home. I found myself getting into drugs and next thing I know I lost everything. My boys went to live with my friend, and I was just so lost I didn't know who I was. I was whatever someone else wanted me to be. No matter how much I missed my boys it wasn't enough to stop. The relationship I was in consumed me. 3 years went by, and that relationship found an end and then another one began. It was worse and more abusive than the last. I was lost and scared. One day I walked 11 miles to a family member and met a man who I didn't know but that would help change my life forever.
.
I hit my bottom. I didn't want to live that way and I wanted my children back!
I knew what I was like to grow up without a mother I didn't want my boys to.
The man I met that day was Pastor Lens from House of Nam church. My family all knew him, and he brought me to Fort Worth Teen Challenge May 18th, 2020!
.
From that moment little did I know my whole life was going to be changed. The Lord showed me who He was in a way I knew He was real. I gave my life to Jesus Christ and the work began. My deepest hurts began to surface, and the Lord walked me through those hurts and sat with me in those moments of pain and sorrow.
It took me some time to open and let my guard down. I never trusted woman well and I lived in a house full of woman so a lot of “iron sharpening iron” took place but it changed me completely, I began to let my walls down, I began to trust, I began to love, I was taught how to be a friend and what I true friend was.
.
I am not the woman I once was. I'm not afraid to be vulnerable and let people see how big my heart is.
I gained a lifelong sister to do life with and how to live life with the Lord.
I am now fully back with my children and doing what I was always afraid of doing being a mom. I'm not perfect but what I have learned from my time here, I'm now able to apply and instill into my boys’ lives.
I now have the strength and courage to be a single mom and give my boys the life they deserve.
Today I am a daughter of the Most High.
I am not what others have defined me. I AM what the Lord says I am and that's His.
Proverbs 31:25♥️
"She is clothed with strength and dignity and can laugh at the days to come."
That emptiness that I once felt is gone, I am whole because the Lord lives inside me.
Today🙌🏼 is the day! ➡️ !♥️In honor of Larry and Larice’s 45 years of dedication to this ministry, an anonymous donor has pledged to match every donation – dollar for dollar- given Thursday 23rd - Sunday 26th🙌🏼

Good morning.☀️ Thank you to everyone who has followed along with us over the past year. During this season we’re bringing back some of our Teen Challenge alumni to share their stories with you. Life after Teen Challenge does happen.😉 We would like you to meet Miranda, known by most over here as grasshopper. A name Larry gave her while she was in our program nearly 16 years ago. Here is a little bit of her story.♥️
“I can hardly believe it’s been nearly 16 years since I graduated Teen Challenge. Although it was a challenging time in my life, I look back with fond memories. Life since then has been a series of hills and valleys with each day complete with God’s grace.
I was a single mom raising my son for nearly 10 years after my graduation. It was tough to wait for the Lord to bring me a husband, but in the end definitely worth the wait. I’ve been married for 5 years and I am coming up on my 10 year anniversary of becoming an RN. Two years ago we were surprised by the birth of my beautiful daughter, Merigold. I still have to pinch myself when I think about the fact that God has given me a daughter of my own after all these years.
I give the Lord all the glory for helping me reach my goals and sustaining me through the years. I’m still learning how to live a life the emulates Jesus to this day, but I am certain that my walk began during my time at Teen Challenge. It was there I learned how to pick up my cross and follow Him and that my life has purpose and I am worthy of love. I’ve often referred to the Teen Challenge ministry as a gold mine and I feel fortunate the Lord chose me out of the millions of women that could use some help.”

Good afternoon and happy Friday. Over the next few weeks we would like to bring back some of our Fort Worth Teen Challenge alumni. These are women who successfully graduated our program and continue to live big lives with big hearts for Jesus. They made the choice to submit their hearts to the Lord, walk through the road of healing and recovery and we would like to share a little bit of their stories with you. This week we would want to introduce you to Nitea. 💞Here is her story:
“When I think about the Lord, how he picked me up and turned me around, how he placed my feet on solid ground.”🎶
“Hello everyone, my name is Nitea. When asked to write my testimony I was over joyed because I love talking and sharing about the goodness of the Lord! I have been a part of Teen Challenge for around three years and what a journey it has been. From extreme self-doubt, insecurity, isolation, and addiction. To becoming free and alive in my Savior Jesus. God‘s love has invigorated me to pursue him every day and fully commit to him and his ways. Looking back on who I was and who I am now one thing comes to my mind.. It’s only the Lord. His grace has been poured out on me to believe what he says about Himself and life in general.
God started weighing on my heart heavily about a year or so before I came to TC. I didn’t know much about Him or what even “being a Christian” entailed. Jesus knew that and in His great love he brought me to TC where I learned exactly who He is. Through community and love I slowly began to see and believe that God is good, that God is love. It’s truly amazing and I’m forever grateful for all that God has done for me & for the commitment of His faithful servants at TC who daily pour themselves into the women that God has called to live at TC. What an amazing ministry!
“Your praise will ever be on my lips” “and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”.✝️
➡️🌈 P.S. I wanted to add this as an encouragement to anyone who may need it.. My good friend Larry Adley always said this one phrase when I was in the program. “The more you know him, the more you love him, and the more you love him, the more you will want to know him.” This truth has continued to bring life and hope to my heart and I hope it does to yours too.”♥️
Good afternoon and happy Friday. This week we would love to give everyone an update on what we’ve been up to the past month. We have gone from indoor art projects, an outdoor worship service in the park, an unexpected snowstorm, and a graduation. There is no doubt that the hand of the Lord is on our ministry, our staff and our ladies.
For our art project we painted Monarch butterflies. The supplies and tutorial were provided to us by a high school art teacher who has a special place in her heart for Teen Challenge. The Monarch butterfly🦋 symbolizes new life. From the caterpillar to the butterfly which is very symbolic for what happens through the Holy Spirits transforming process at our center.
We are happy to report that we survived the Texas winter storm of 2021! This was truly a group effort. Power outages and struggles with running water did not get our spirits down. We used this opportunity to have some creative fun, build a few snowmen ⛄️, grow more as a family, and really get to appreciate the simple things we take for granted so easily. The Lord is good to us and we definitely dodged a few crisis.
Last week we took the ladies to the Worship in the Park🎶 event at Trinity Park. It was a relaxing evening of outdoor worship and prayer service. We packed up our blankets, some snacks, a few sweaters and spent an evening with the Lord. We all left feeling very refreshed, renewed and grew closer with each other and the Lord.
We celebrated Leilah graduation last Thursday and next Thursday we will honor and celebrate Allison. Stay tuned for her testimony next week. We love you and we thank you for praying for us and supporting us. We hope you enjoy these fun pictures. We would also like to thank Bethesda Community Church for honoring us and praying for us last Sunday in their evening prayer service. We love our home church so much and we could not do this without you. Have a blessed weekend. Don’t forget to set you clocks ahead March 14 Is daylight savings time!
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” – Psalm 133:1♥️
Happy Friday! Last night we celebrated a very important and beautiful graduation. We were so blessed by Leila and her family, and the work that the Lord has done in her life, we would love to share it with you today. Here is a little bit about Leilah’s journey back to the Lord.
“Chosen. This word is one of the many words God has chosen to call me by. For many years I suffered from the choices I made. Addiction, debauchery, idolatry, and many more. These things ruled my life. I numbly and blindly followed these desires into a place that only the Lord could deliver me from. He called me; He called me by His name and many others- free, forgiven, righteous, Holy, beloved, darling, precious, adored and chosen. I stand on the Rock of Ages today and I am free!”♥️
